Car Rental Convention

There are lots of things to see and do in Convention, but head farther afield and you'll find more sightseeing magic. Grab a set of wheels and you can meander around the surrounding region at your own speed. Add these awesome places to your itinerary:

• Avignon is about 100 miles from Convention. Well-known tourist spots like Palais des Papes deserve a place on your must-see list while you're in town.
• Located 85 miles away, Toulouse is also a favorite with wanderers. Make sure you experience Cite de l'Espace while you're in town. It's one of the reasons people love coming to this buzzing city.
• Find your way to Écrins National Park to rediscover nature. Take a picnic to enjoy or just relax in the fresh air. From Convention, it's roughly 200 miles away.

If you don't have a driver's license issued in France, then you'll likely need to get an International Driving Permit (IDP) in your place of residence in order to rent a car. It's also important to note that if an IDP is required, it won't be valid on its own. You'll have to show your current driver's license your passport and other forms of identification as well. Lastly, it's important that the credit card used to book the rental matches the name on your license and passport. Some additional requirements to rent a car internationally are:

• Age restrictions: You need to be 25 or older in most places to rent a car. If you're younger than that, it might still be possible to rent a car but you'll have to pay a Young Driver's Surcharge. Additional restrictions may also apply to the types of vehicles you can rent.
• Driving limitations: Be sure to read the fine print before driving away. Typically, you can't cross country borders, drive on ferries or on certain types of rugged terrain with a rental vehicle.
