Accepted Answer

Get your road trip off to a good start by selecting Expedia's collision protection. While there are many types of insurance, this is one you'll need to have. Question 11

Can I drive in West End with my current driver's license?

Accepted Answer

If you don't possess a driver's license issued in Canada, then you might need to get an International Driving Permit (IDP) in your home country in order to rent a car. Please also consider that if an IDP is required, it has no validity on its own. You'll have to show your driver's license from your home country your passport and other forms of ID as well. Lastly, make sure the credit card used to book the rental matches the name on your driver's license and passport. Some other things to note for international car rentals are:

Age restrictions: You need to be at least 25 in most places to rent a car. If you're younger than that, it might still be possible to rent a car but you'll have to pay a Young Driver's Surcharge. Additional restrictions may also apply to what kinds of cars you can rent.
Driving limitations: Be sure to read the fine print before you drive off the lot. You typically can't cross country borders, drive on ferries or go off-roading with a rental vehicle.
