There's loads to do in Zona 15, but head farther afield and you'll find more sightseeing magic. Arrange a set of wheels and you can roam around the surrounding region at your own speed. Add these fantastic places to your travel schedule:

• Quetzaltenango is approximately 70 miles from Zona 15. Notable tourist attractions like Quetzaltenango Central Park deserve a place on your must-see list here.
• About 50 miles away, Santiago Atitlan is also a hit with travelers. Allow time to get to Atitlan Volcano while you're in town. It's one of the reasons people love staying a while in this thriving city.
• Get into the outdoors and take in the serenity at Rio Dulce. You'll find it about 130 miles from Zona 15.

If you don't have a driver's license issued in Guatemala, then you may need to get an International Driving Permit (IDP) in your place of residence to be able to rent a car. It's also important to note that if you do need an IDP, it won't be valid on its own. You'll need to show your current license your passport and other forms of ID as well. Lastly, make sure the credit card used to book the rental matches the name on your license and passport. Some other requirements for international car rentals are:
