Zona 6 offers adventures galore, but don't restrict yourself to one place. Arrange a set of wheels and take to the road to explore the wider area. These are some great options:

• Head to Quetzaltenango for a fun-filled sightseeing adventure. About 70 miles from Zona 6, it's home to loads of great attractions like Quetzaltenango Central Park.
• Roughly 50 miles away, Santiago Atitlan is also a favorite with wanderers. Make sure you get to Atitlan Volcano while you're in town. It's one of the reasons people love staying a while in this buzzing city.
• Visit Rio Dulce to reconnect with nature. Pack a picnic to enjoy or just chill out in the fresh air. From Zona 6, it's around 130 miles away.

If you don't possess a driver's license issued in Guatemala, then it's likely you'll need to acquire an International Driving Permit (IDP) in your place of residence to be allowed to rent a car.
