"The area was generally very dirty. The entrance to the hotel was being used as a shop for Chinese girls to get dressed up and having makeup. Hence it was as you were entering a small fitting room. The staff could hardly understand a word of english, while we had to ask for very standard supplys such as toilet roles to be provided to the room."

They packed our breakfast for us since our departing train left earlier than when they usually serve breakfast. "

We ate the special set menu dinner. Definitely the best restaurant in Pingyao. Staff had a proficient level of English which enabled us to have a better experience visiting the historical sights in the walled city. Our two night stay was a five star experience."
