Although we had a bit of a problem checking-in, he more than made up for our inconvenience with his conscientious, affable and charming personality. Hotel Les Goelands is a lovingly operated family business that has been in existence for 90 years. We enjoyed having "Grandmother's Special Cake" for dessert on the evening we had dinner in the dining room. Delicious! The breakfasts at the hotel were also very tasty. Hotel Les Goelands is indeed, a very special place, only a short walk away from the center of Saint-Jean-de-Luz. In town, be sure not to miss the Mercado Les Halles St-Jean-de-Luz and the simple, but wonderful oyster bar in the building. Market days vary according to the season, so check before you go.
