"Exactly what we needed, and really wish we'd had a whole week. It was peaceful, comfortable, with everything you'd need. We didn't realise there was even coffee to try the espresso machine! Next time... Brought my parents here as we'd stayed at the old Barrington Guest House when I was a kid. Still a beautiful area. We did the Blue Gum Track, and a whole lot of bird-watching, even seeing lyrebirds for the first time. Dungog is worth a visit - a small community-focused town. Hopefully we'll be back soon!"
Country Getaway unwind watch the cows or enjoy local sights and wineries
8/10 Good
"Very quiet area and certainly good for unwinding. The walk from the parking area to the house was a challenge for an older person with no pathway, and clumpy grass patches on heavily pitted soil were difficult to negotiate in the dark. The kitchen was well equipped and the host kindly provided breakfast supplies. It was the most comfortable bed I have slept in for a long time and a large king size. The bathroom is tiny and lacks enough vanity space to hold toilet bag and clean clothes, or hooks for hanging towels. The bedroom is large with a massive walk-in robe but would benefit from some luggage racks to put suitcases on, rather than the floor. It's a short drive to the nearby Central Hotel at Stroud where we had a great meal and good entertainment. Best of luck to Tracey for future hosting. Her place is a well situated stop just off the Pacific Highway and only a few hours short of Sydney."
"Great little well-run hotel in beautiful Dungog. The staff/managers were accomodating and it was simply a clean, pleasant and satisfying stay. Recommended"
Family-sized getaway in the heart of the Williams valley, near Barrington tops
10/10 Excellent
"Was ideal for our family getaway. The house had everything we could have hoped for. A/c was lovely on the hot days, the fire pit was fabulous at night to sit around and toast marshmallows and chat. The beds and linen were clean and comfy. The outdoor lounge was lovely for nibbles and wine of an afternoon. It was perfect. Thank you!"
"While the front of the property is unassuming, the inside is spacious and the view is fantastic. Easy check in, and a nice grassy area behind to string up the hammock and read a book. Only suggestion would be to provide additional door stoppers for the beds as they roll very easily on the tile! Doggo and I had a great time, will certainly use this facility again. "
"From the moment we pulled up we knew this was a special place, with an amazing view over the valley and kangaroos to greet us. I watched a possum & baby at night and lots of bird life and lizards around. The house was set up beautifully with everything we could want. Plenty of room for 8 adults in the bedrooms, loungeroom, indoor & outdoor dining. Linen, towels, pillows, etc. all good quality. Kitchen well equipped. Toiletries provided and even enough toilet paper We made good use of the pool table and tennis court.Minor inaccuracies in the ad include: Full sized Billiard table is not, but it is a normal sized Pool table; there is no cafe onsite."
