Glamorous lake house on a mountain lake in upstate New York (max of 8 guests)

Eagle’s Landing Lake House is a newly renovated and uniquely furnished and decorated four bedroom, two bathroom rental home which is in operation twelve months a year. The home is decorated in a whimsical combination of Adirondack style/mountain theme with the addition of nautical as well as Victorian elements. Thompson’s Lake is a clear, spring fed mountain lake located in the Helderberg Mountain range of upstate New York. The lake is 2.5 miles long and the deepest area of the lake is 60 feet. The lake is stocked with a variety of fish by New York State Department of Environmental Conservation. The lake is relatively private although there is a New York State Park at the end of the lake. Eagle’s Landing does provide our guests with eight different kayaks, two standing paddle boards, three paddle boats, two row boats and two canoes. Life preservers as well as paddles and oars are readily available for our guests. (We are dog friendly so life preservers are also available for your canine family members)✨ The home, including all four bedrooms and the den, boasts knotty pine walls and ceilings made of southern pine with cedar wood beams. We have two resident bald eagles on the lake which often hunt for fish from our tall pine trees facing the lake. Winter, spring and fall are also wonderful months to visit Eagle’s Landing for leaf peeping, cross country snow skiing and snowshoeing, ice fishing, hiking and snow mobiling. We provide all bedding, high end glass and dish ware as well as cooking utensils. We also have three balconies directly facing the lake, a stone fireplace and several outdoor fire pits and chimneas. We own the building lots on each side of our Lakehouse so our location is very private and reminiscent of a state park. Due to the fact that we use a well for water and have a septic system, we strongly hold to the policy that the maximum number of guests is eight. (Please know that children need to be counted in your total when adding up your guests) Thank you, in advance, for adhering to this policy as our goal is to offer you and your party a wonderful and comfortable experience at the lake house. ✨

Amazing property!
Wow! Where do I start?! Kathy is a fantastic host, and the property is amazing. Very clean, and had everything we needed. The beds were so comfortable! We didn’t get to enjoy the lake much as it was rainy and very windy but the fireplaces were nice and warm! We had a great stay and can’t wait to return in the future. Thank you!

Warm Welcome and Wonderful Stay
Kathy, our host gave us a warm friendly welcome and suggestions for lots of things to do in the area. Kathy is very knowledgeable about what both the property and the town as to offer including sites and restaurants. We went skiing and the kids enjoyed themselves. The house was clean, warm, pretty, inviting and had plenty of room for our large family. We look forward to visiting again and will recommend to our friends!

We didn't want to leave . . .
If you're reading this, book it, I can assure you, you will not be disappointed. Wow, where do I even begin. My partner and I were looking for a secluded and private rental to celebrate our 15 Year Anniversary, and settled on Eagles Landing, so glad we did. The lakehouse is so spacious, includes everything imaginable, from kitchen essentials to linens, to outdoor seating, firepits, canoes, and paddleboats and the list goes on. We are looking forward to returning during the summer months to enjoy more of what the outdoors has to offer. I must say, however, we did enjoy the ambience of the "woodstove" (propane) upstairs, definitely set the mood with the lake view along with the falling snow, it was heaven. Despite the beautiful lakehouse along with all of the amenities, what topped our experience, were the hosts Kathy and John! Yes, the hosts made our experience that much better, which is hard to do, as Eagles Landing on its own is a spectacular experience. The hosts kept us informed every step of the way, offered restaurant recommendations, and even made themselves readily available anytime of day in the event we had any questions. However, without giving away their secret which sets them apart from most hosts, is the amount of thought they incorporate into the stay to make it special for each and every guest, not to mention their kind-heartedness. A special thank you to both Kathy and John, as my partner and I were absolutely blown away by your hospitality! 😊

6th and Final First Christmas!!!
Kathleen was by far the best host I have ever had the pleasure of renting from. Right from the start she was very informative and quick to get back to me. My wife and I were given the task to find a location near Schenectady so we could have our 7 - month old spend Christmas with his great grandfather. (This would be his final first Christmas). After informing Kathleen about our reason for visiting, she let us know about all of the decorations she had. My wife and I were shocked at the collection, but were so grateful to have it set up. It made for a fun snow day with our baby after we got hit with a good 6-8" overnight. Also great for pictures. The decorations are only the beginning. Check in was so easy and Kathleen left us "garbage bread" and pizza with a jar of marinara sauce so that we would have an easy meal when we showed up late at night. We were also given a bandana and treats to spoil my sister's dog. The house was beautiful and super cozy. We had a fire downstairs every night we were there and used the propane stove on the middle floor also. The view of the lake was amazing and the property was fun to explore. We had a great time with the family and it started with the generosity and caring nature of Kathleen. From the start she was amazing and that has made my family very excited to try and make it an annual trip. Thank you so much Kathleen!!!

Beautiful and Relaxing New Year’s!
Eagles Landing was wonderful! It was our first time there and won’t be our last. We were welcomed to a super clean lake house with soft music playing and a lot of goodies to snack on! The decor was really cool and some unique pieces from local artists. Everything seemed custom tailored to our trip and we couldn’t have been happier. The wind was howling for the first couple days but you would never know it with any of the warm fireplaces to keep warm by. New Years Day we caught a sunrise at Thatcher Park then hiked Paint Mine trail for a few miles. We finished up our trip watching the many different kinds of birds visit and eat seed and nuts. Thank you to Kathy and John for a super relaxing vacation after a very busy 4th quarter at work. 😊♥️ Kathy goes above and beyond to ensure you have an amazing stay.

Thanksgiving
My family had the pleasure of spending Thanksgiving at Eagles Landing and we were simply blown away by the host, the house and experience!! It starts before you have even arrived with helpful recommendations from Kathy regarding things to do and see and local restaurants to visit. When you walk into the house you are greeted with a personal welcome with goodies and are treated to spectacular views and first class accommodations and amenities. The weather was cold and blustery but we stayed warm and cozy with a gas stove on the main level and wood fireplace in the downstairs area and plenty of warm comfy bedding in our bedrooms. Don’t miss the opportunity to enjoy this place! Kathy and John have created a truly magical house where guests are treated like friends and family. We are already looking forward to our next chance to visit🤗

AMAZING Lake House
Eagle’s Landing is truly an AMAZING Lake House. Spectacular, wonderful, cozy and immaculate are only a few words to describe it. The Lake House has everything you could possibly need to rest and relax or stay super busy. Kitchen is fully stocked, bedrooms so comfy, living room so cozy, and lots of outdoor activities kayaks, canoes, paddle boats and several fires pits. Kathy the hostess is so thoughtful, informative, helpful and so sweet and caring. From the moment you meet her you instantly can see how much the Lake House means to her. And she is available 24/7. From the fresh flowers on the kitchen upon your arrival, to the fresh bread and scones and the bag of goodies to make S’mores. Super vacation home, breathtaking view of the Lake from any level or balcony you’re on, Perfect in every way. We can’t wait to come back again.

Cathy and John have created a beautiful place. The house is filled with wondrous items. The outdoor landscaping is gorgeous. The lake view is breathtaking and there are many kayaks and canoes available for exploring the lake. One can feel the love and care ( and extraordinarily good taste) of the hosts at every turn. Kathy is a thoughtful and gracious host. She left us some delicious homemade blueberry bread and all the fixings for s’mores. Also, she was available 24/7. Eagle’s Landing is a rare and remarkable find. We have stayed at many places and we can not recommend this one more highly.

Our stay at Kathys house was the best rental experience that i have had! Kathy went above and beyond to ensure that our weekend was amazing! The house was well appointed with all supplies needed. We were celebrating my daughter's college graduation. Kathy left decorations, bouquets of flowers, homemade breads... i just can't say enough about how touched i was when we arrived. We actually checked her availability calendar to see if we could return this summer! I highly recommend this rental!!!!!

We booked a three night stay at Eagles Landing while we were getting our floors refinished. It was such a wonderful experience that we were fortunate to be able to extend our stay two more nights. Kathleen, the host is beyond gracious in her efforts to ensure that you enjoy the house. There is nothing missing - she has thought of every amenity and comfort from luxurious bedding, towels and soaps to the beautifully decorated and equipped house that was immaculately clean upon arrival. There are two decks overlooking the lake and entire property is just awe inspiring. Despite having cooler than anticipated weather for May we were still able to kayak and then build fires both inside and outside. The location is only 20 minutes from our home but it felt like we had driven hours. If you are looking for a quiet and peaceful location to sit and watch beautiful sunsets and soaring eagles but still have the ability to be active, Eagles Landing is it!

This house is absolutely fantastic. 6 of us stayed here for a weekend and absolutely loved the space. It’s so quiet and peaceful at the house and is the perfect space to relax for any amount of time. The house is clean and deceptively spacious. It has all kitchen gadgets, appliances, and tools you would ever need. The fireplaces and outdoor spaces were a huge plus as well. I also can’t speak more highly of the host. She was so communicative and friendly and genuinely cared about our experience at the house and surrounding area. 100% recommend this house and host.

Easter Getaway
This is my first time renting a house from Vrbo and I must say that Kathleen has set the bar very high for any other houses we may rent. Kathleen is responsive and welcoming. When my family arrived at the house, we were greeted with fresh local bread and jelly for us all to enjoy and she did not forget our pups, they also received treats. The house was extremely clean and had every utensil needed to prepare Easter dinner. The beds were extremely comfortable and we loved the rustic charm. Oh yes, and we got to see the Bald Eagle multiple times.

This is a perfect getaway. The host is very gracious. Fresh homemade bread and jam when we arrived. The view is breathtaking. The house has everything you need to feel right at home. We had a wonderful weekend escape to disconnect from the busy day to day and just enjoy each others company. The space was more than adequate for the 5 of us. Presents as described and Kathy is absolutely a perfect hostess! From the added touches to welcome Spring to the lovely bread and jellies the care and thoughtfulness to the needs of “things” forgotten in packing. The bedrooms were comfortable and beds comfy. Hope to get back sometime when there is no snow! We even caught sight of the eagles flying by over the lake.

Calming Peaceful Winter Getaway
I was overwhelmed by the care the owner puts into this property. The views and atmosphere were just what I needed to get away from my fast paced engineering career. So close to so many beautiful places and trails as well as nice local dining. Will definitely be looking to relax by the fireplace here once again.

Guys Weekend Getaway
Eagles Landing was the perfect lake house for our guys weekend! Very spacious and roomy even for 6 adult men! We enjoyed the fireplaces and fire pit by the lake while enjoying some fresh air and ice fishing on the frozen lake! To cap off the weekend an adult Bald Eagle found her perch on the tallest tree directly over the fire pit alongside the waters edge of the property! Would 100% visit this listing again! Great cabin and communicative host
The cabin was an excellent place to stay, located in the mountains overlooking a serene lake. We went in the winter and the cabin was still picturesque w/ the frozen lake and snow. The host Kathleen was very communicative and was available to be reached at any time. We found that the cabin had everything we needed and every little detail was thought out. We all very much enjoyed our stay and will definitely consider coming back!
