“It's a nice apartment, cheaply but competently renovated. There were cobwebs around when we arrived but otherwise it was clean. The beds are VERY nice, extremely comfortable which is so important. My biggest gripe, something not demonstrated in the listing, is the fact that the property directly borders an actve train teack, and when i say it's right outside I mean it is RIGHT outside. I was kept up the entire night one of the nights of our stay because of a pair of trains stopping and starting……

“Great place to stay!! We walked to multiple bars/restaurants, stores, and activities. Parked the truck when we got there and didn't need it until it was time to go home. Keep in mind you'll need to navigate plenty of stairs, but so quiet and relaxing being elevated above the busy street activities below. Easy check in, super clean, plenty of kitcken gadgets and linens. ”

“We had a fantastic stay at The Happy Traveler – Cabin at Starved Rock State Park. Nicole, the owner, was incredibly friendly and very responsive throughout the booking process. Her emails about our arrival and departure were clear, helpful, and made everything feel smooth and easy.The cabin itself was spotless and comfortable, and the North woods vibe really stood out. “This is a large, clean place with good water pressure, air conditioning, and laundry facilities. The bathroom light is dim and the best mirror for shaving etc is in one of the bedrooms. The bed I used was ok. I had a little trouble with the single-cup Keurig machine. There is no rack for washing dishes and no knife appropriate for cutting up fruit. The location is central, but you must drive to get to the restaurants. It's at the intersection of the main road and railroad tracks so it can be……

“The property was extremely clean and convenient to the activities we were seeking out, Starved Rock state park, restaurants, walking. We felt safe and comfy! The hot tub was so clean!!! Communication with our host was prompt and always pleasant. I had several questions prior to our check in and even months before our trip I was made to feel like a valuable guest. I would absolutely book with this host again and stay at this property! ”
