“Peaceful, quiet, beautiful views and a really lovely well-laid out home. Really enjoyed it and will likely return next year.”

“The recently updated Blue Heron Cottage was neat and clean and the beds were truly comfortable. The cottage is just a short walk to the shops and restaurants in Colonial Beach. The attractions at Westmoreland State Park, including Fossil Beach, are a short drive away.”

“A lovely cottage for some true peace and quiet away from the city. The hosts were kind and thoughtful. The bed was extremely comfortable. The shower is built for someone short - so just beware if you are over 5’4” it’s going to require a lot of slouching! Overall, a truly peaceful stay. ”

The house was super clean, has lots of charm, was nice and cool, and the location was perfect. We loved sitting on the front porch and gazing at the water. The house is located super close to the beach, town, and the bay. We were so happy to be able have our dog join us in the house as well! This is a gem in sweet little Colonial Beach! ”

“The cottage is an older structure that has been impeccably renovated. It had everything we needed for a week's stay. Colonial Beach is not a glamorous ocean holiday destination. It is a rural community with a basic infrastructure on the Potomac River.”

“It was very important to have a fenced yard for our little dog she is really part of our family enjoyed the use of the pier for veiwing the Potomac and a little light fishing the cottage was very clean and comfortable if we can we would like to return sometime ”
