One of the world’s largest horse-themed parks, a spectacular golf course and an intriguing traditional village bring visitors to this bucolic part of Jeju Island.

Varied parks and gardens provide a stunning setting in the rural district of Hallim. The area offers a glimpse of local and historic traditions through its old-world village, while its coastline is made up of rocky bluffs, sandy beaches and islands in the South Sea. Visit Hallim and trek through the leafy parks for a sense of the district’s scenic terrain.

Overlooking the picturesque coast is vast Hallim Park, one of the island’s highlights. Explore the enchanting gardens in the park, including the Bonsai Garden, the Water Garden and the Subtropical Botanical Garden.

Admire views of Biyangdo Island as you stroll along the park’s coastline. Remaining in the park, you’ll find Geumneung Beach, with soft white sand and shallow water. Go snorkeling in the clear bay and check out the flurry of colorful fish swimming with you. Visit nearby Hyeopjae Beach and enhance your tan on a warm day.

Head south and wander through the pretty grounds of the Spirited Garden. It has stunning ponds, waterfalls and stone bridges. Nearby, bring your little ones to The Ma Park, said to be the world’s largest horse-themed park.

Keep the relaxing vibe going by practicing your swing at Nine Bridges Golf Course. Its stunning course is spread across a rolling terrain dotted with lakes and woodland. Learn about local traditions and history in the Nakcheon-ri Nine Rituals Village.

The district of Hallim covers a portion of the northwestern corner of Jeju Island, from the coast toward the center of the landmass. It stands between the zones of Aewol and Daejeong. Arrive at Jeju International Airport and travel by bus west to reach the center of the area. Make sure to see nearby attractions such as Hallasan National Park, the Seogwipo Natural Recreation Forest and the city center of Jeju.
