We ended up using more than we planned - cooking most meals there, using the grill and fire pit, while enjoying the creature comforts of the AC. "My family had a great time at this property. Unfortunately we weren’t able to kayak since the army dams the lake in the winter. While this was unexpected, we made the most of it and walked the dry lake bed quite far and my family was able to find some fishing spots. The cabin was clean and had what we needed. The back deck was a great place to read my book and kids liked the bonfire in the evening. We would stay here again but make sure the lake is there!"

"We loved this cabin! It's very close to Rough River State Park where we usually stay on Memorial Day Weekend. But this cabin is so much better than the State Park's cabins. Very clean and well furnished. It was great to have a nice place to stay since we were inside for quite a while due to the weather. We hope to be back soon!"

"Great family retreat. The cabin was very clean and well maintained. The listing was very accurate and well described. We were close enough to Mammoth Cave to partake in a day of hiking, but far enough away to enjoy the peace and quiet of relaxation. Definitely would recommend if you would like a cabin away from the hustle and bustle."

"A great place to stay for the weekend. We loved feeding the animals next to the cabin and kayaking. We loved the dogs visiting (Lola, Charlie, and Bo). Everything you could need to cook was available. We made use of the fire pit in the back and made our dinner over it using the grill."

"My husband and I planned a stay with our girls and both our dads to make some memories. We found this amazing cabin and booked right away. It was even nicer in person than described. Only about 30 minutes from mammoth cave. They had plenty to do in the cabin when it rained and we all got to enjoy the hot tub post our hikes. We enjoyed competing on the shuffleboard table as well! If you are staying in the area, choose this house, you will not be disappointed."

"Great house that was inviting and felt like home. Kitchen was well equipped, nice with granite countertops and plenty of counter space. Large lawn for kids to play in with a creek/ravine behind. The only difficulty was there is no interior dining room. The only large table is out on the screen porch but it was too cold for us to eat out there in March. We almost exclusively use rental homes for our trips now due to having kids and more of a “home” feel. "Communication with the owner was excellent, the best I've had with a VRBO rental. The property is brand new and was well suited to 4 adults and 3 elementary school aged kids. Location was good, but it is a 50 minute drive to the National Park."

"The cabin was spotless, with everything we needed. I was even able to catch up on all our laundry before heading home. Our pup loved the lake and running at sunrise with me around the property. The kids loved the loft and want to come back to enjoy the lake when it’s warmer."

"We had a very nice stay and the owners were very kind. The place was clean and comfortable. There was an issue with the laundry machine not working but the owners came out and replaced it with a new one immediately so we could enjoy the rest of our stay. The bonus game room was a hit for the whole family and we all had a great time overall. Definitely recommend!"
