“Enjoyed yesteryear charm. Excellent little touches.
Be prepared to travel for Cafe's in Rawene. Great to walk the Kohukohu village up past the school to appreciate the wonderful old villas.
Most were built in the 1800's. Best to purchase a concession card for ferry travel. Much cheaper.”

280 degree front views of the moana, acres of lush green yonder with hahi, urupā, te waka aa kaihao and peaceful tranquility.
Pickering Cottage stay was clean, with cosy nooks, traditional cuboards and their fittings, slanted walls, drift wood curtain rods and door handles. Traditional side draws and dining furnisher, no wall paper present with my favourite being the wide KAURI floors. WOW!!
Enjoyed the huge washing utility room that housed everything from washing……

“Absolutely enjoyed our stay. Location was ideal for us and we could not fault it. Beds were comfy and so were the couches. Next time i will remember to take a bluetooth speaker but otherwise the lack of tv was a bonus. Went to the opononi hotel to watch the league and take the kids out for dinner. Locals are really friendly.As for the driveway, i left that for hubby to navigate. Didn't look as bad as i had envisioned but i probably would park down the bottom if I was on my own. Overall loved……
