Meschers-sur-Gironde is a popular place to try oysters from the region. Come and enjoy them or spend many hours each day swimming and sunbathing on the beautiful sandy beach. Perched on limestone cliffs overlooking the Gironde estuary, Meschers offers a spectacular and unusual landscape with strange troglodyte dwellings. Only the Regulus and Matata caves are open to the public. Boat trips and hikes are the delight of vacationers. You can also explore Talmont-sur-Gironde, one of the "most beautiful villages in France", and especially Cozes, an authentic village nestled between sunflower fields and forests. Thanks to its protected environment in the heart of the Saintonge region, it can call itself a "green station".
