“Overall, we had an okay stay, but I feel the property was overpriced for what it offered. The location was convenient, around a 30-minute walk or 25-minute bus journey into York city centre. Having on-site parking was a real bonus, as was the nearby supermarket. We also appreciated the baby gate on the stairs, and our children loved sleeping in the bunk beds. However, there were several issues that affected our stay. The property is advertised as a two-bedroom apartment, but in reality it has……

“The property was very well equipped, spotlessly clean and comfortable. The staff were helpful and friendly. The location was great, in easy walking distance of the station and other shops and facilities. I will definitely return.”

“A beautiful, spotless and charming cottage in an absolutely stunning location. Perfect for families, complete with books, games and deckchairs to enjoy the garden and streamside location. The house has everything you need and is well stocked. It was lovely to arrive and discover milk in the fridge and a tea and coffee tray awaiting us. We would stay here again.”

“The house was lovely, spacious, clean and well stocked with anything you might need. It is in a tranquil village and has plentiful off-road parking. The garden has an excellent view and is so peaceful to sit in. There is a park 2 minutes down the lane, a football field, and if you continue down the lane, there is a pond and a lovely walk around it. It was perfectly located between all the walking areas I wanted to see and complete. When we arrived there was bread, milk and some treats waiting……

“Great location. Very small but nicely done. Very steep stairs. Missing basics such as bottle opener and coffee pot or maker. No electrics in front bedroom and unable to sort this during our stay. No info on heating. Excellent local cafe.”

“Great studio close to the station, quiet, and a quick walk into city centre. Good restaurants on the next street, close to the wall if you want to walk. Bed was comfortable, shower good, and washer easy to use. 100% would stay again.”

“It’s our third visit to Sedgewell Barns and we wouldn’t consider going anywhere else when we are looking for a little getaway. Just perfect!”

“A lovely, clean and modern house, with everything we needed for our short stay. A 7 minute cab ride to the centre of York. Beds were comfortable and the kitchen and bathroom were spotlessly clean.Just a heads up - the bathroom is downstairs, which we didn't notice on the listing, so our fault not the host's, but just to mention in case anyone is concerned about having to go downstairs in the night for the loo!Would happily stay again.”

“Never done a glamping pod before, saw it on line looked good so booked, when we arrived first thing we saw through the gates was how well looked after the grounds were. The pod itself was really clean and had everything we needed, bed was comfortable, would definitely come back. ”

“Very friendly reception from the landlord Gareth who provided a most enlivening atmosphere in the Duke of Wellington ie a darts match for the men and Easter wreath making for the ladies. No food unfortunately but we found an excellent Italian restaurant in nearby Northallerton. The courtyard room was clean and comfortable, marred only by a very awkward shower - not easy to enter, due to lack of space.”
