8.4/10 Very Good! (97 reviews)
The bed linen/towels were clean and I had a comfortable sleep but the room was grubby, with scuff marks on the walls and furniture, and crumbs/dust/hair in drawers and in the corners of the seats. The room we stayed in was badly in need of an upgrade, I’m not sure about the rest of the hotel. There was also no kettle/coffee maker in the room so we had to go to reception/cafeteria to get hot water for drinks.
The indoor spa was decent but could also do with a deep clean and was very busy. I did not use the outdoor one. There is a public hot spring right at the entrance to the hotel if you climb down to the river and this was my favourite part of our stay, and you don’t need to pay for it.
Breakfast was decent. Fresh fruit, cheeses etc and they make you eggs or omelette fresh. There was only one waiter on for breakfast and it seemed like a lot of work for one person.
The check in experience was not great. We had to ask about breakfast time, were given a spa time without consultation, and it was just not the friendliest. No information in the room either. There is a beautiful riverside walk starting from the hotel but we just found it ourselves, there was no mention of it.
You have to pay for parking at the hotel -€15 a night. We parked 400m down the road in a free car park instead.
Would probably not recommend staying in this hotel but they do seem to be upgrading part of it so it might improve. The lift broke the morning of check out so had to carry cases downstairs.
