The staff were very nice. Good free breakfast! They didn't clean our room ( we were there for two nights). Not sure if we needed to request or if they forgot.

Upon arrival, I found out their wifi was out; they were waiting for a part. The pool was closed for servicing. My room was clean and comfortable, but the walls are thin. My neighbor had the loudest TV. I was surprised to have a neighbor, as the hotel seemed pretty empty. The staff was very nice, the hotel felt safe, and breakfast was good.

Although the hotel was excellent the receptionist was not welcoming. Interesting how your whole experience can be affected by your first impression at the reception. Also, I don't recall reading anywhere in my reservation package that parking is $30/day! For Des Moines that's significant.
