Stunning sunsets, turtle watching, longtails wheeling and glow worms ....

Sunset Studio is located on the western edge of Sugar Cane Beach looking out across Mangrove Bay towards the west. It is 10 minutes from Dockyard and 15 minutes from the main beaches.

It is a single room studio unit with a loft space for sleeping, modelled on the tiny house concept. There is a full king sized bed in the loft area, together with small built in closets either side of the bed. The living area comprises a corner sofa unit that can convert to 2 single beds. The kitchenette is a very compact “galley” style kitchen that has a full stove, under counter fridge/freezer, toaster & electric kettle. Flat screen TV in lounge and loft area with fire tv and firestick, internet access, air-conditioning throughout. The bathroom has a large shower.

The unit has direct access to our beach and there are also stairs leading to the waters of Mangrove Bay on the northern boundary. The patio area overlooks Mangrove Bay on the Northern side of the unit. On the Southern side will be a sheltered garden with a bar-b-que area (once the landscaping is finished).

The exterior of the unit is designed to resemble the wooden cottages built in Somerset in the late 19th – early 20th Centuries, by West Indian workers who were brought to the Island to work at Dockyard. [For further information see Bermuda’s Architectural Heritage Series: Sandys by the Bermuda National Trust]

Please note the loft area will be accessed by a compact staircase and may not be suitable for individuals with mobility issues.

Stunning
Book it right now. The yard is unreal, 270 degree water views, your own beach basically, take the kayak out the little islands during low tide.. you can pull up on a deserted beach and walk in the ocean. Great host. Did fire pit every night. Can walk to woodys (so much fun) and the restaurants at Cambridge resort, we also walked to the market, to a local gym, wine store, didn’t even use the bus. I couldn’t complain about any minor thing if there were any, with a view like that.. spectacular

A beautiful place to stay!!!
This is one of the most beautiful places to stay on the island!! The views are gorgeous and the water lovely for swimming, snorkeling, and paddle boarding. Plus you will not get better care or attention from the owner, if needed. This is our second time here and we will be back! Thank you again, Christine!

To open your french doors and see the beautiful turquoise waters is amazing. The 'Tiny Blue'house was perfect for our stay. It had everything we needed and it is situated on its own beach with chairs, kayak and paddle boards. Christine has a true treasure in this house. We will definitely be back!

Wonderful stay in a beautiful place.
The host communicates well and is very helpful with information to plan a great trip. Second time to Bermuda and this is our favorite part of the island. Relaxed, beautiful and safe. Every local we met was genuine, kind and very interesting making the trip a little bit more special. From this location you can get around easily by taxi, bus and ferry. The view from this property is beautiful. Highly recommend for a couple, having kids there would have been two tight in my opinion since only one bed in loft area (no pullout on first floor). For us, it was perfect.

Magical seaside studio
We spent 4 nights at Sunset Studio and loved every minute - we spent as much time there as possible, it has a view that you can't stop enjoying! Location is key - to see the stunning sea and watch the sunrise and sunset is just magical. Christine was quick to reply and helpful in all our communications, even when I had questions to ask before our trip. The studio itself is just right for the two of us - enough space, furniture, equipment etc. Outdoor furniture is plentiful and comfortable! Issue with sliding bathroom door reported to host. The porthole windows do just let in the light overnight though - including a streetlight. There were high winds when we were there, so didn't get to enjoy the sea or kayak (only one available) as much we wanted, but we still went into the sea (and found baby jellyfish - depends on the wind/time of year). Easy access to bus stops and a 15 min walk into Somerset Village (supermarket/pizza/chicken shop/pharmacy) or over the bridge to Woody's for a fish sandwich. Easy to get the ferry across to Watford Bridge from Hamilton -just a few mins walk away. Had a fabulous dinner at the Sunken Harbour (Cambridge Beaches) about 15 mins walk away.

Spectacular Location and Wonderful Host Made Sunset Studio “Our Home in Bermuda”
The location is ideal, directly on the water with breathtaking views and adjacent private beach, all at the edge of the charming village of Somerset. Christine is a lovely person, committed to ensuring your holiday goes well. The few issues we encountered were immediately addressed. The tiny house was tidy and had everything a couple would need to enjoy an extended stay. We were there for eight nights and felt it was still not sufficient time to take in everything Bermuda has to offer. We highly recommend purchasing a bus and ferry pass, as there are stops for both a short walk from the house. They are efficient and provide the ability to meet very friendly locals. When we return to Bermuda, this property is the only place we will stay. It really is that good.

Disappointing
This is the second time I stayed at the property, and I was hopeful things would be better when I got there. Unfortunately I was disappointed. Pros: beautiful views and great sunsets. Kayak available Owners are responsive and kind Fire pit Bus line close by Cons: Owner forgot I was coming (didn’t have soap in the house, and dropped it off the next day) Bugs: roaches and ants in house Kayak full of sand and unusable (for the second time. Owner did empty it, but it happened both stays) Stairs are just plain scary No place to wash sand off feet outside Street noise No binder of basic information Wi-Fi is not reliable (85 mega bytes per second so lots of dropped calls) Strangers would come on the property which was unnerving Needs work: Put a binder of info together (including Wi-Fi password, how to store the kayak, get bus tickets). Get some storage for the kayak so it doesn’t get filled with sand or float off Maybe have some wood for the fire pit available Check out the Wi-Fi and see if it can be fixed

December 2023 at Sunset Cottage
Upon arriving we noticed a lovely moon gate entrance, then going forward we see siding missing from the cottage, a kayak on the beach largely filled with sand and no raft as shown in the pics. Bermuda often has strong island winds, particularly at the seashore and plenty of rain. Weather is not the owner's fault. We settled inside and found the space akin to a tiny home. We knew it looked small in advance, but we did not know that the internet connection would be so weak, that the only toilet was going to overflow, and the kitchen infested with ants. After a few days and long before our stay ended, we booked elsewhere and left. I wish I had asked for a refund. The site is close to bus and ferry connections. The surrounding seashore is fantastic when the weather cooperates, and you can fish right from the property and nearby.

Simply paradise
I want to say this place was terrible so no one books it and I can come more :) but the truth is.....this place was absolutely incredible. The property itself is amazing. You are basically on a little peninsula surrounded by the most gorgeous water. There is even a small private beach. My husband and I honestly lacked the motivation to even leave, because the view itself was so breathtaking. For transportation we alternated between taxi (to and from airport), bus, and ferry. The ferry is honestly the way to go. The stop was directly across from the house, so we took the ferry back from Hamilton. I wish we would have taken it to Hamilton as well, but we took the bus. It was a fairly long trip (about 50 minutes), and perfectly safe and pleasant, but hot. We ordered groceries from the market beforehand, (Christine picked them up for us!), so we cooked breakfast and had lunch most days, going out for nice dinners. The Cambridge resort is a short walk away, and we enjoyed lunch and cocktails there one day. Also...Woodys is right down the road, and was a great locals joint. As for Christine herself....she was super nice and helpful. She came over one evening to show me how to engage the locks, as there is a little learning curve. She also was very responsive and kind when I had a couple of other questions. We will 100% be back, and are already looking for dates next year!

amazing location
This was our 4th time visiting Bermuda and we made so many beautiful memories at this “tiny house”.. we split up our trip, so the first 5 days were spent at the Hamilton Princess hotel and the last 5 days at the tiny house. My parents were traveling with us and stayed at the Princess the whole time. We were able to easily visit them by hopping on the ferry at the Watford Bridge, which was walking distance from the tiny house. It was perfect! Pros: The listing is definitely accurate in terms of accomodation- for us, we knew it would be just a place to sleep and that we would be enjoying the scenery and private beach. The AC is strong and the california king size bed upstairs in the loft comfortable. We found oodles of sea glass with our goggles, unique corals of red and purple color, the water was so clear. We enjoyed the kayak. We downloaded the HITCH Bermuda app (like uber) which made getting around so much easier. We would take the ferry to Hamilton; use the app to get around (crystal caves, horseshoe bay, jobsons cove, etc) and then take the ferry back to the tiny house (or if we needed a later ferry we took the one going to the dockyard because it ran later). the coffee pot was great and we found the hot water feature helpful in the water dispenser for our kids favorite chai tea which we brought from home among other favorite breakfast items like pancake mix. Theres a big fully equipped grocery store nearby. Cons: no floating dock, which was a bummer!

We had an amazing stay at the tiny house in Somerset. It is in the perfect location right next to Watford Bridge to catch one of the ferries and also bus stops are right outside too. The views were stunning. The private beach was so special and we had fun snorkeling. We had all the amenities of home but in a tiny package. Christine was a wonderful, accomodating host. House and location was perfect, entire stay was perfect, everything was perfect. Can’t get better than waking up and walking a few steps to the beautiful water. Fun Fishing Area
We had the best time! We took our fishing poles and caught at least 9 varieties of fish. Those that were legal to keep, we grilled up for dinner nightly. The water is so clear that we could identify many tropical fish including a parrot fish that was about 24" long, trunkfish, squirrelfish, and so many colorful small ones. It would be great snorkeling, but we didn't try it. We had a Bermi electric car and it was nice having a power outlet for it at the house. But, a car really isn't needed since a commuter ferry is in walking distance and so are the bus stops. Bus and ferry schedules can be found online. We saw everything Bermuda had to offer and planned our trips to the Crystal Caves and Horseshoe Bay Beach on the day that cruise ships were leaving. We got the cruise ship schedule by searching online. We were the only 2 people on the Crystal Caves tour and there weren't many people at the beach either. We were in the house only to eat and sleep, and stayed outside on the porch, yard, and even slept on the lawn chairs until about 2 AM. So peaceful. It's very entertaining just being in the yard watching boats, looking at fish, etc. We didn't want to leave! Christine was very helpful too.

Fabulous stay
Great location. Christine is an excellent host. She picked up our groceries; however, if you have time it is worth going to the the nearby Marketplace yourself as there is much more selection than is available online. Ferry to Hamilton in the morning, then to Dockyard and bus back is a fun half day trip. TJ at Rugged Rentals in St. George is great. Consider renting from him when you arrive for the duration of the trip. He’ll bring you to and from the airport ($15 +/-). We enjoyed the car as it rained off and on for our first two days. The house creates great privacy for what can be a very busy island. Coffee in the morning and cocktails in the evening! Excellent stay. D & P
