Location is excellent. We also got upgraded to a better room with a larger bath. Room is very clean, bed is very comfy and owner is super nice explaining all the attractions, tours and shows patiently. "'Standard' Chinese hotel. I stayed there for one night because it is close to the airport. I would not stay there again. Room stinks, bathroom stinks even more. No smoking rooms don't exist. No AC or heating. Fortunately staff was very friendly and did speak English. Do not pay more than £30 for night. "

The staff upgraded us to a larger room and was overall very helpful, including arranging a pickup at Taiyuan airport and return transportation to the airport. The morning breakfast is delivered to your room a few minutes after you order it. The Hotel is right in the old town and within steps of anything you want to see their. The itself was spacious, clean and with a comfortable bed."
