Amazing
What a wonderful place to stay and such kind hosts! I could not speak more highly of Lucas, his house, and his family. Easy communication with host and his wonderful mom even gave us a jar of homemade jam. The house is beautiful as is the garden (can it get more idyllic than eating cherries off a tree overlooking Tuscan countryside?). About a 20min walk or 5min drive into town where there are great restaurants and cafes. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Beautiful location and home
I was under the impression that we were renting a single home for a party of 9, instead it is a large home divided Into three separate apartments. It worked out that were didn’t have neighbors while we were there and were able to enjoy the property and pool. Luca and his wife were very hospitable. The little town is just up the road and offer restaurants, and grocery stores. Nice place to relax and unwind. I will return.

Beautiful Villa & Lovely hosts!
Tuscany is such a beautiful region in Italy, and this villa was a great way to enjoy it! It is centrally located so it was an hours drive to places such as Florence, Montepulciano, Montalcino, Pienza etc. Even just spending a day at the Villa to relax and recover after a few days of exploring the region was a great way to spend our time in Tuscany. The villa was roomy with a full kitchen and plenty of rooms and beds. It was clean and had beatiful grounds; it is quite obvious the hosts take pride in their property. Would stay here again; and I hope we do!

Beautiful location in the heart of Tuscany
Great location next to a quaint town and close enough to the beautiful hill towns of Tuscany. Property was very well maintained and spacious enough to fit our family of 6. The lack of AC in the summer was an adjustment but the pool helped keep us cool.

Nice home in a great location
Beautiful property situated very close to Siena and an easy drive to Florence and other towns in Tuscany. It's also nice to have access to the pool especially when there is no air-conditioning in the house. We were there in early July and the temperatures soared to 100 degrees Fahrenheit. The town of San Rocco a Pilli is very small but there is a Co-op supermarket and good restaurants. The property was a bit tough to find though. The GPS took us to a property next to a mausoleum / graveyard. Also, the house is actually divided into triplex so you are not getting the entire building but a portion of it. However, our part of the building was big enough and comfortable for the six of us. I did have trouble communicating with Luca as he did not seem to get the messages I sent him through HomeAway but when he did respond, he was very informative. His lovely wife Leticia was very helpful and came to check on us almost every day. We took day trips to Florence and Siena and was able to relax poolside at the end of the (very hot) day. We enjoyed our stay at Casalta.

Great location out in the country side of beautiful Toscana. Home is beautiful,! If you need to travel to Sienna it’s a 15 minute car ride. All other attractions 40-60 minute car ride. A must is Panzano in Chianti , visit Dario Cecchini , Antica Macellaio. Lucca and his family were so very nice . Anything you needed they were there for you . Wonderful experience in such a beautiful place.

A Gem Just Outside Siena
My family of 6 women stayed here and it was phenomenal. Beautiful house with a gorgeous pool in a quaint area 15 minutes outside of the city center (you do need a car to get around). Centrally located so we were able to do day trips to Florence and San Gimignano and visit some lovely wineries in Chianti. Luca and his family were incredibly warm and helpful - arranging wine tours, yoga classes and recommending excellent restaurants. The only small complaint is the lack of AC - but having the pool made that bearable. We would come back to this property in a heartbeat.

owners are lovely, and the property is excellent: clean, spacious, centrally located, great kitchen, laundry on site, plenty of space to be alone or to be together... 1 mile from town which was a quaint area with bakery, market, church and bar/ restaurants. we traveled from Cinque Terre by car ( about 2 hours) , stopped in Lucca for lunch and a bike ride before heading to Tuscany. owners are great cooks and great hosts! (careful to arrive before night -the GPS struggled a bit - there is a large cemetery /mausoleum about 3 blocks from the property and this would have been a good mile-marker for identifying that we were within a few blocks of the property)

Heaven in Tuscany
Thank you Luca, Lutizia, and Mama Luca. What a great and wonderful time. Quiet, comfortable, relaxing, and beautiful. You need a car to get around. The COOP store in town has everything you need including great steaks and chops and pasta that we made at the villa thanks to Mama Lucca helping us start the great outdoor grill. We can't say enough thank you's to Lucca for taking us on a wonderful tour to Montepulciano and La Foce Gardens. It was awesome. Thank you for a trip we will never forget.

Fantastic house. Great hosts. Highly recommend.
Casalta is a great place. We stayed 4 weeks & had friends visit. Luca & Letisia are terrific. They will help you in everything The town has a great patisserie/cafe. 15 minutes from Siena. Great place to travel in car all around Tuscany. Drive or take train from Siena. We will go back there next time we go to Tuscany.

Perfect stay in Tuscany!
We had the pleasure of staying 2 nights (we wish we had more time) at Casa Alta in San Rocco A Pilli in the Le Rose apartment. Luca and Letizia were SUPER hosts (even better than the Super Tuscany wine we drank). They went out of their way to make us feel comfortable. Le Rose is spacious and the patio was a great place to have a nice meal. We swam in the pool and soaked up the sun in the pool deck. While we rode the property's bikes into town (approximately 1.5 km), a rental car would be helpful to tool around. We hopped in taxis, or hitched rides with Luca (loved the Panda!). We had a lovely wine tour arranged by Luca and had one of the best meals of our life. We recommend the pasta with truffles -- delizioso!!! We shipped some of the wine back to the USA for what we felt was reasonable after shipping from other places. Siena was quite close and we ate at 2 restaurants recommended to us by Luca- both really tasty. Luca, thanks again for giving so much of your time and sharing your lovely home. We had wonderful stay and would definitely return☺

Fantastic property!
We had a too short visit in San Rocco a Pilli. Luca and Letizia are wonderful hosts. We stayed in the middle unit, La Rose. We were a group of 6. There are three rooms on the second floor, three double beds, one room has an extra single. The attic has a futon, and two singles. There is one bath in the attic, two on the second floor and one on the main floor. The accommodations are spotless, well decorated and comfortable. Luca is the architect who resurrected this 17th century barn. His creativity and vision are remarkable. The pool allows a splendid view of the countryside. San Rocco a Pili has a good size grocery, a wonderful bakery, cafes and charm. It is a quick drive in to Siena and one hour to Florence. You are not far from many other lovely towns, wineries, thermal springs. Luca speaks English very, very well. He is very helpful with suggestions and advice. I highly recommend this property for your holiday!

UNFORGETTABLE Week in Tuscany
We spent an unforgettable week in this Villa - The Hosts, the Villa, the Property, the Views, and the Location -- all fantastic! The HOSTS. Luca and Letizia are beyond fabulous, amazing, and hospitable. They are genuine, huge hearted, and they really want their guests to have a great time at the Villa and around Tuscany. The minute we stepped onto the property, Letizia, who is so sweet, greeted us, asked us how our trip had been going, and then showed us around the Villa. Then Luca arrived. He is a big presence - huge smile, exuberant, and funny. Both Letizia and Luca went out of their way to make our visit unforgettable. For example, we asked about a good winery visit and Luca immediately got on the phone and arranged it for us the next day at a nice, higher-end winery that included a tour and an AMAZING lunch afterward. Letizia even lead us there in her car because she was worried we would get lost (it's an HOUR away). Unbelievable. Two other major highlights: Luca cooked a delicious dinner for us on the first night and he and Letizia taught us how to make Pizza and we cooked it in the pizza oven on site. All of us agree that Luca and Letizia made the trip! The Villa. We stayed at Le Rose and it is just fantastic. Luca is not only an architect, he does everything else you can imagine. Letizia does the decorating and all the beautiful little touches you see in every room. Here are the highlights of the Villa: the kitchen is extremely well stocked, the water pressure is great with plenty of hot water, the bedrooms are quite large, there are plenty of bathrooms and showers, the living room is spacious and open, the electronics are very modern, and the feel of the Villa is just comfort. The Property. There are many highlights to this property but here are a few: a fabulous pool with nice furniture and an iPhone plug in for music, a large whirlpool, a beautiful pizza oven Luca built, outdoor dining furniture, a secure entry gate, lots of herbs and flowers, and a huge ice maker in the room under the pool! The Views. We spent every evening back at the Villa sipping wine, hanging out in the pool area, nibbling on snacks, and watching the sunsets. The area surrounding the Villa is quintessential Tuscany - olive trees, vineyards, and sunflower fields. Very peaceful! The Location. The Villa is just went of Siena which is a great place to explore Tuscany - Siena, Assisi, Montepulciano, San Gimignano, etc. Truly UNFORGETTABLE!!!

Fantastic property and fantastic hosts!
We would recommend this property to anyone! The entire experience exceeded our expectations - including the property, the location, and the owners. We will definitely rent this villa again in the future and we had no complaints. The little town closeby was excellent as well - great restaurants, an excellent coffee and dessert place, and nice people. There is also a grocery store less than 5 minutes from the villa, which is very convenient! If you want to have a great holiday in beautiful Tuscany, this place is perfect! 5 stars in every way!

Amazing stay!
We had an amazing stay at Le Rose in July. We were two families consisting of 9 people. We really enjoyed the place and the surrounding areas and towns around San Rocco a Pilli. Luca and his wife did everything they could to make our stay the best and they even invited us for pizza-making! A once-in-a-lifetime experience! It was certainly a "dream come true" to stay with you and we will recommend it to everyone we know. We hope to be back very soon! Best wishes from the big Norwegian family!

Not only were the 2 apartments clean and nice, but Luca was a great host. He was extremely helpful in accommodating such a large group (17 people) and available whenever needed. It was a bit warm on the top floor of the apartment but that's a price you pay for coming to Tuscany in July! Thank you Luca for a wonderful stay.

Amazing week at Le Rose
Our family of four (2 kids ages 7 and 12) and another family with kids of similar ages stayed at Le Rose for a week in late June. It was very hot during our stay and we spent several days lounging at the incredible infinity pool. The apartment was very large and easily accommodated our two families. As is typical in Tuscany, we had no air conditioning but were provided fans. The house remained cool with only the 3rd floor loft getting a bit warm. Luca was a perfect host. We were close enough to San Rocco a Pilli to get takeaway pizza and pasta several nights, and we were also close to Siena and the highway. The architecture of this restored building is beautiful - Luca planned and performed the reconstruction himself and combined form and function artfully. The building has three apartments, one where Luca's mother and his sister reside and another rental that was vacant during our stay. One of our best VRBO stays ever. Great value too. Get good directions before you arrive - the address is not clearly marked from the road.

Beautiful Villa - Exceeded Expectations!
We had a fantastic stay at this villa! It is very comfortable, roomy and clean. The Tuscan setting is beautiful. Luca and Letitia are great hosts and couldn’t have been more accommodating. While respecting our privacy, they were always available when we needed something. We knew we were going to arrive late our first night and requested a light supper. They went out of their way to greet us. We arrived to a beautifully set table and tasty prepared pizza, including a lesson on how to make it. Another plus for this villa is its location. While in a peaceful setting, it was still easy the reach the local town for groceries and the highway. One thing that would have helped us arriving at night would be a clear address on the beautiful gate in front of the villa. In all, a wonderful experience for our family and it exceeded all of our expectations. We hope to have the opportunity to return to Luca and Letitia’s beautiful villa.

Gruppo di 11 amici ci siamo stati tutti nelle varie stanze della casa. Spazi comuni ampi e abbastanza bagni per un gruppo così grande. Purtroppo non abbiamo usato la piscina visto il periodo, ma d’estate è sicuramente un ottimo bonus per la casa. Vicinissima a Siena per una gita in giornata. L’host Luca molto gentile e disponibile. Unica cosa che si potrebbe migliorare è la pulizia che potrebbe essere un po’ più attenta. Casa super consigliata per gruppi.

Nous avons séjourné pendant une semaine dans cette magnifique demeure. Nos hottes: un jeune couple de professionnels c’est très bien occupé de nous. Le souper nous attendais à notre arrivé. Très chaleureux bienvenue! La maison est magnifique, bien située- très proche de Sienne. Pendant notre séjour nous avons visité Florence, Pise, Sienne, Padoue , Vérone . De notre retour après la journée de visite une magnifique piscine nous attendais. La maison est très propre, accueillante ainsi que le jardin autour. Eindrucksvolle große Ferienwohnung
Wir hatten einen wunderschönen Aufenthalt in der Ferienwohnung. Sie entspricht der Beschreibung. Besonders hervorzuheben ist der Pool. Bitte beachten: die Ausstattung zum Kochen beinhaltet keine Gewürze etc (dies mag Coronabedingt gewesen sein). Leider ist der Pool (wenn man Kinder hat) nachts geschlossen; das ist sehr schade.
