"Nice"

"Great location, just a block from the main Metro line, north of downtown but just south of the Imperial Palace, and just east of Nijo Castle; an easy walk to top eateries, shops, and temples, and easy bus or train to anywhere in the area. Lovely modest facility, at very reasonable prices, with friendly staff offering excellent service, including in English. Rooms were small (as are most in this densely settled country), but quite comfortable. Many pleasant surprises, like free daily shuttles to and from top area sites (Kinkaku-ji / Golden Palace shrine, and Arashiyama's bamboo forests and Tenryu-ji temple), and a free tasting of three kinds of sake each evening. We had a great stay; strongly recommend."

"Excellent stay! The hotel has a perfect location with plenty to do around and countless options to explore the local food scene. Everything is within walking distance or easy to reach by public transport, making it ideal for sightseeing in Kyoto. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the staff was friendly and helpful. Overall, a great value for the price and highly recommended for anyone wanting to experience Kyoto to the fullest."

"Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Koko Hotel. Great great stay (especially with kids) as the room was super spacious and had everything we needed. The location was amazing and pretty much everything we needed was within walking distance and there was an amazing coffee shop right out the front door. Only issue regarding cleanliness was the carpeting probably needed an extra vacuum and some of the cutlery wasn't cleaned well, but this was really minor and otherwise everything was perfect. The staff were super attentive and helpful. Would not hesitate to stay here again!"
