"Awesome location for a first time stay in Puerto Viejo. Hotel had what one needed to be comfortable with a little luxury in a hot and muggy climate. The daily included breakfast was very good and presented well. Staff was professional and attentive; especially Marisol at the front desk. "

"We were genuinely sad we only had one night to stay at Banana Azul! Check in was quick and efficient and friendly. The fresh coconut was a lovely treat. The Howler Suite was charming and the view magical. The food in the restaurant was delicious. I highly recommend Banana Azul if you want an authentic Costa Rica experience that’s right on the Playa Negra beach. I’ll definitely be returning. "

Beach villa w/fiber optic internet- Steps to beach with garden full of wildlife!

"The house is really comfortable and unique. There is a lot of wildlife nearby. We felt completely safe. Troy is a fantastic host - very concerned with our comfort and ensured we had everything we needed. I would love to stay there again - it was perfect!!!!"
