Atrás da praia existe uma lagoa que à época exalava um cheiro forte de mangue. Cockleshell Bay is a bay of clean water and calm sea. The beach is good for kids. At the time I visited it, the infrastructure was small, with only one bar and one restaurant. The sand was contaminated with many algae, but I was informed that some of the algae are left on the beach because they are part of a micro ecosystem.
