I fell walking down the stairs, heading to the restaurant, called Sun and Sea near e12 I may be typing the restaurant name wrong but it’s the only restaurant that’s open at this time. There is a set of stairs that is directly adjacent to the pool that doesn’t have any type of grips on them and no I was not wet and it had not been raining nor was I under the influence of drugs or alcohol. I still fell due to the sleek slippery design of the staircase. The opposite side of the restaurant has yellow grips. I suggest adding those grips to the stairs that is directly next to the pool because people that may have utilized the pool or are wet or ground is wet from rain can truly hurt themselves. I did tell the bartender when it happened as well as the person that checked me out when I left the resort I have a few bruises on my arm and the back of my leg, but overall, I’m fine just bringing awareness to the situation. this is my second time staying with you All. My first visit was in 2021 so I most definitely enjoyed you guys but we have to be safe a person‘s shoe choice should not be in an excuse for safety. I had on sandals by the way, as many people will have one because of the nature of the stay. Booked Aug1 thru 5

The property was beautiful. The room was clean and the staff were helpful and polite. However, the issue with the seaweed variety emitted an overwhelming smell that was very unpleasant and hindered the dining experience in the only full service restaurant on the property.

Check-in and check-out were super simple. Office staff communicates by text upon flight arrival and drops a pin for easy navigation. St John roads are an adventure all by themself, so the pin really helps.
We stayed in Guave and the view was stunning. From the spacious balcony you can see all of BVI as well Coral Bay and the east end of St. John.
The unit is very nicely decorated and in good shape. The spacious kitchen has a surprising number of appliances, gadgets and even some common spices and condiments which really nice.
The grounds are well kept as in the awesome infinity pool, though the property is a fairly steep hill and there are 54 steps between the upper units and the pool, and a few dozen more down to the rarely staffed office. The ladies are quick to respond to texts or calls though.
There is a market just down the (very steep) hill, but the 20 minute drive into Cruz bay is well worth it (better still, stop by their market before heading to the mountain top). Their markets are better stocked and about 30% cheaper.
If you want a peaceful retreat away from crowded family resort life and the best view on the island, Calichi is the place to be.

Beautiful, high end condo-like suite with full kitchen and laundry. Beds were comfortable and it was very upscale homey.

The Ritz always does an amazing job of putting their best foot forward. Right away you could tell that the staff was trained to give all guests undivided attention and courtesy no matter who they were from the gardeners and landscapers to the managers. The facilities where carved into the natural topography in the back of a bay surrounded by mountains... just gorgeous! We had an amazing room where it was said that Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas once stayed. There was a window in the hallway with such an amazing view... i could have spent my whole trip staring out the window at the electric blue water and Island of St. John in the distance.
This was a big facility and getting around often ment planning or walking a bit. Food: we stayed on the club level and the club provided most meals from the hotel. And it was beautiful if not always the most tasty. We ate at the residence's restaurant once and found it just ok. But we never at at the beach resturant or the main resturant which i attempted to and couldn't be seated. Seems odd that you have a captive group at your hotel and can not accommodate everyone at the main restaurant. We ended up having room service. Good thing we were club level or it would have been alot more room service. Sargassum is a seedweed problem in the Atlantic Ocean this year in particular. The Ritz makes a real effort to keep it clean. The bed was amazing! Feather topper and thick down comforter.

I can’t believe how much money we paid in taxis! It was crazy! We also had asked for more towels and such and never got any..and they didn’t do a cleaning of our room bc of our shorter stay which was a bummer…
