Kilima is approached via a gated drive leading into the landscaped garden. A luxury property, Kilima is perfect for a memorable family holiday. Set amid Azille's vineyards and olive groves, Kilima benefits from breathtaking views across the Black Mountains and the Pyrenees. Yet, along with the proximity to the vineyards of Minervois, the medieval city of Carcassonne, a world heritage site, is a short drive away, and the clean, uncrowded , beaches of Gruissan with wind-surfing, jet-skis and sailing available. Narbonne a similar distance away has a picturesque town centre with the Canal-du-Midi, markets and cosmopolitan restaurants. The 11 x 5m private pool is a much loved feature of the property, particularly in the summer when the local temperature hovers around 30\`C! There are pool and terrace lights for night-time dips. It is overlooked by a shaded terrace, ideal for al- fresco dining. The villa is decorated to an unforgettably luxurious standard making for a truly relaxing holiday. The villa is equipped with Wi-Fi internet and telephone, Sonos, X-Box 360, TV, Blu-Ray DVD with cinema style surround sound system and a selection of DVDs. There is a satellite dish to receive English channels. Rowing machine and Exercise bike along with a Pool table and Table Football are in the Games Room. There is an outdoor table tennis table, and bikes in the garage. The house offers activities for those of all tastes. Kilima truly can cater for everybody's needs and desires. The very large lounge/ dining room/ kitchen is the hub of the house. Cooking and dining become a truly family endeavour. There is a Gas Barbecue on the covered terrace. The kitchen is comprehensively equipped: the standard American fridge-freezer/ ceramic hob/ oven/ dishwasher are augmented by an array of gadgets from smoothie maker to fondue set. The Games room also houses the washing-machine and tumble-dryer. There is a travel cot and high-chair available. The property is also suitable for wheelchair-users, being mostly on one level. 2 of the bedrooms have king-size beds, and en-suite bathrooms. The other 2 bedrooms have twin beds that can be joined to make a super-king-size bed. The porch in the front of the house had many large pots filled with flowering plants. The whole house was very clean & decorated with wonderful African art along with stylish & colorful prints. The kitchen was incredibly equipped with every appliance a cook might require. The bathrooms were never short of hot water & the pressure was more than adequate . It was a week of extreme heat and the pool was well used whilst the aircon kept us cool indoors. The house is large and very clean with beautiful views over olive trees and vineyards with mountains in the back ground. The kitchen is well equipped and there are lots of books and boardgames for evening fun. The owners are very nice and they were quick to respond to any questions we had. There are lots of wine tasting/buying opportunities in the area and many little cute villages to explore nearby. Azille ist ein kleiner typisch französischer Ort und am Ende liegt KILIMA. Wir entspannten am Pool, genossen die herrliche Aussicht und die Umgebung mit all ihren Sehenswürdigkeiten und Städten wie Narbonne, Carcassonne und sogar Toulouse. Die Restaurants im Umkreis sind empfehlenswert und natürlich wurde der große Gasgrill auf der Terrasse häufig genutzt. The swimming pool was really fantastic and we spent hours relaxing on the terrace. The view is wonderful. The owners were very helpful on a difficult first travel day and extremely responsive when I had questions about local taxis etc. We loved the fact that there was a pool table and table tennis. The lounge is extremely spacious so on any rainy days there is plenty of space for everyone to relax. There are a couple of supermarkets within easy reach by car and a number of nice restaurants, particularly in Homps. Most importantly for us since we were travelling with my elderly disabled mother, the property was very accessible with a downstairs step free en suite double and railings into the pool. We searched quite hard for somewhere that accommodate her needs and this villa was absolutely perfect for that. The only comment I would make was that it is normal especially in a high end villa to have a small amount of welcome food (loaf of bread, jam, butter) and this was not provided. Given we had such a difficult travel day and arrived when all shops were closed (and could not visit a supermarket until our car hire was resolved) this was problematic. I would expect that in a villa at this price point and having stayed in many over the years I would say it would usually be a given. And an actual, proper, propane, full-sized BBQ grill which is virtually impossible to find in Europe. Ductless heat pumps in every room so you can always set the perfect temperature. We would have liked to spend even more time in the heated pool but unfortunately the September temperatures were a little lower than we had expected. Azille is a quiet place but there are plenty of places nearby to eat and drink. The villa was spotless and the pool lovely ( although access is difficult for people with mobility issues, very steep steps with no rail). The downstairs en-suite bedroom is ideal as it has a walk in shower. The local area has some very good restaurants. Lots of great features: nice pool, games room, bikes, views over the vineyards towards the hills, and much more. Peaceful setting but groceries are all within easy reach (in a choice of ancient, hill top towns). Great pool. Super for disabled grandma. Lovely markets nearby. Easy to walk into village for baguettes every morning. We enjoyed wine tasting at Chateaux Guery in Azille. Olive tasting, canyoning, kayaking, local markets and enjoying the restful villa overlooking vineyards and the most amazing view. La maison est super bien équipée et les charmants propriétaires étaient toujours dispo pour répondre à nos questions ! La région est un trésor en centres d'intérêts : culture / mer / montagne / nature / culinaire donc chacun peut y trouver un centre d'intérêt. La piscine fut fort bien appréciée par chacun vu les fortes températures ! Le seul point que nous pouvons soulever ne dépends pas du propriétaire mais de la rigueur des locataires précédents à savoir le fait de bien traiter/nettoyer les objets du ménage tels que barbecue ou douche ou sel dans le lave vaiselle. Il faut toujours entretenir une maison de location comme si c'était sa propre maison ! Merci bcp aux propriétaires pour leur gentillesse et leur assistance lors de notre séjour. Un séjour 5 étoiles ! Azille is een leuk dorp op loopafstand en er zijn genoeg supermarkten vlakbij. Piscine superbe. Air climatisée partout, dans chaque chambre, dans l'aire principale (cuisine/salon) et chambre de lavage/jeux. Très confortable, très belle sélection de romans et DVD malheureusement la grande majorité en anglais. Service attentif pour l'entretien de la piscine. Manque, cependant, des miroirs dans 2 des 3 salle de bain/douche (un peu compliqué pour se faire la barbe le matin). Propriété bien sécurisée (volets motorisés partout, système d'alarme, portait d'accès verrouillable).
