Great memories of past years
The stay was great. The house is exactly as listed - a throw back in time. It felt like I was staying at my grandparent house when I was a kid. Learning about the history of the home and the family was also a nice touch. I was also able to show my kids how much things have evolved over time ranging from the kitchen and bathrooms. The house was very spacious. My family of seven didn’t feel like we were on top of each other. The host provided great resources for using the washer and dryer as well as good bathroom amenities. Lastly, the location was great - a five minutes drive to downtown Beaufort. Also seeing the jets fly over each night was good enjoyment for all of us.

What a fabulous property. It was absolutely beautiful and we found it to be exactly as listed. I wish the walls could talk to speak of the fun and history that this home has to offer. It was very clean and the bed in the master bedroom (we only used that bedroom) was incredibly comfortable. The dock was amazing and the lighting on it was wonderful and made for a few great evenings sitting out with a glass of wine. The location is great and no more than 10 minutes away from grocery and shopping in one direction, and the historic waterfront park in the other. We would definitely stay here again!

Extraordinary Home
This property is outstanding. Beautifully decorated and furnished. The house is spacious. Has everything you need for an enjoyable stay. The view towards the river was gorgeous Loved looking out first thing every morning. Help was readily available for a few minor issues. As stated it is a 1950s house with some limitations ie small bath rooms narrow halls etc. However these issue are minor compared to the overall quality of the experience. Enjoyed the quiet Most days could only hear the birds- with an occasional jet Overall our 10 days there was terrific

Waterfront delight!
Pinckney Homeplace is a unique property. Its located in a quiet waterfront neighborhood. The interior has vintage charm dating to the 1950s. Its well equipped for cooking. There is a Mr Coffee drip machine as well as a Keurig coffeemaker. Plenty of dishes and seating. The main bedroom and twin bedroom with crib share a small bath. 2 other bedrooms share a hall bath. There's a cozy den with TV. The long dock and gazebo look over the marsh and waterway. Seating in the gazebo is a great way to spend an afternoon, watching the ducks, egrets and boats. Our family enjoyed a holiday gathering here. The owners had even provided some Christmas decor and a beautiful Nativity scene in the large living room. Thank you, Pinckney family

Guys Long Weekend
Beautiful setting, house is old but in good shape with lots of 1950's - 1960's vibes. Five old friends gathered for an annual trip of golf and other indulgences. Everyone of us recommended renting the same place next year.

Pinckney Homeplace
We have stayed here many times before. It is a great property for comfort, peace and quiet, awesome view of the Intercoastal out back, the Beaufort River. And the air shows from across the river are a bonus. We never get tired of seeing the military jets fly from the training base. Such a great place to stay! Highly recommended!

Great great place and we are looking to book again
Loved this place so much. And the pictures don’t do it justice. We didn’t think the place had a tv bc there is no picture of one but there is a den with a tv not shown in their photos. The view is outstanding! The dock is awesome! The neighborhood is awesome! And super great proximity to everything! We are currently planning our next trip back now.

Needs Attention and Overall Stay in The Pinckney Place
*****May 18 - May 21.2023***** I did not go up to house this time, my friends reported these things to me. Just thought you may want to know. 1) Lock box was very difficult to open 2) Electrical plug broken off in the outlet in one bedroom with single beds not one with crib. Noticed when plugging in extension cord because no outlets in bathrooms. 3) Ceiling fan appeared to be very loose Overall my five college friends (80/81yrs. young) were very pleased with the accommodations. They enjoyed walking on the dock in the mornings and once again they were very satisfied with "The Pinckney Place" just as they were in October 2022. The house is very spacious, very clean, and met their needs by having a comfortable bed available for each one. The group was very appreciative of the friendly gift of a box of chocolates from "The Chocolate Tree".

That this property is a true find! If you love to fish or crab or sit out on a dock or under a gazebo this place is for you. The house is very large and full of character. The kitchen is probably the best stocked of any place we have stayed!

The Best Place In Beaufort
This is a very large home, despite what the photos indicate. With three bathrooms, den, living room, kitchen, porch, dock, and four bedrooms, you will not feel cramped. The view off the porch and dock are wonderful! The house is a little stuck in time....in a good way. It is well appointed and very comfortable. The neighborhood is good for walking with multiple parks and a boat ramp. The owner is responsive and very helpful. In short, this has been one of my best VRBO stays; and, I hope to come back!

Beaufort tranquility
We thoroughly enjoyed our month in Beaufort at this home full of family memories! We arrived to a spotless well equipped home, in a quiet peaceful and friendly neighborhood. Location was perfect for exploring the local area, and a large dock was available for watching the tides, crabbing or fishing. Mike next door was available for any questions and local recommendations. This is a very special place and we watched many sunsets with gratitude.

Three of my friends stayed in the Pinckney House and were very satisfied with the accommodations. The beds were very comfortable. The group enjoyed the dock and watching a school of dolphins swimming in the river. It was a positive experience for a small group of 80 year olds from different cities attending a small gathering of close college friends on Pigeon Point Road.

A comfortable roomy home near downtown with an awesome view of the Beaufort River We return to this home as much as we can to fish for redfish and trout and just plain relax! Highly recommended!

Big Family Getaway
There were 10 of us, 4 adults and 6 kids (my husband and I, our sons family and grandkids). The house and location were perfect. We all loved the water views. loved walking in the safe neighborhood and to the local coffee shop. The dock held the boat we rented from the Marine Base, so there was fishing and sandbar swimming and dolphins galore. We could ride the boat into town and dock at the city dock and get ice cream or dinner. The boat launch was about 5 houses away. There is a great shady town park for our little grandkids to play maybe 6 blocks away. I grew up in a home similar to this large lovely, comfortable home so it was a treat for me. With our group, we didn't need a fancy house with white couches and expensive furnishing. I love a home with history and this one hit all our needs. Great large house and great location for us. Owner answered all our questions within minutes. Cell service and wifi were perfect.

Awesome weekend!
Property is clean and well-maintained. Like stepping back in time, but with amenities needed for today. Our entire group had a great time...those who wanted to relax, relaxed, who wanted to fish, fished, and who wanted to explore beautiful Beaufort walked to the waterfront via the historic district. As usual a delightful vacation. A classic mid 20th century home on the Beaufort river from which we viewed sunsets in the evening and boat traffic in the morning. The manager was available when needed and quickly responded to any questions that we had.

Words cannot describe how much we enjoyed our stay at this ‘slice of Heaven’ for our son’s wedding weekend! Truly the best out of town stay we have ever had. Fabulous Stay
We had such a wonderful 3 day stay here! The house is so nice and has so much character and history. The view is exactly as pictured and provides peace and tranquillity from early morning to late evening. The location is close to downtown and the neighborhood is so quiet. The owners were so friendly and easy to book with and provided everything needed for a perfect stay! We are looking forward to staying here again soon and would recommend this property to anyone visiting Beaufort.

We have stayed at Pinckney Place 3 years running and loved it more each time. The house is in a fantastic location with amazing views off of the bluff/dock and the direct creek access is great. Its only a 15 minute walk downtown to all the great shops, restaurants, and water front park. We have already booked next year's getaway!

Perfect vacation for the boy mom!
We had an amazing time this week! We spent most of our time at the dock or in the water. My boys loved fishing and crabbing off the dock. We rented kayaks and paddle boards and had a blast! The house had everything we needed and it was nice to be able to include our family pets. The views are breathtaking and my soul just relaxed while I was here! Wonderful stay on Pigeon Pt.
House was just as described and could not have been nicer. The backyard is where we spent all of our time. The dock is terrific and the end of the dock we spend hours together. The tide is dramatic but we had our tide schedules on our phones so we planned our water time based on when the tides were coming in. We fished but the water temp wasn't conducive to fishing... cold water for sure. However, the crabbing was terrific! I had my traps and caught more than enough for a mess of crabs. I love them and my trip required an opportunity to go crabbing so that was perfect. The house was very clean, kitchen well stocked and beds very comfortable. Everything is very close to the house, we went to the beach one day, downtown several times and walked several neighborhoods. So convenient to everything! We will be back.

Historic Beaufort & Pinckney Home Place
Beaufort is the perfect central location to introduce midwesterners to the south in a very short amount of time. And the Pinckney Home is the perfect retreat after a long day of sight seeing. It is so very unique, full of local and family history. It has plenty of space for 6 adults to spread out. The dock and crabbing is lots of fun, my son caught 2 little ones which we returned to the water for next year. Observing the tidal changes and watching the boats was very enjoyable. The neighborhood feels safe and the neighbors are friendly. We loved the parks and watching the children playing. Next time we travel with a crowd Pinckney Home Place will be at the top of our list for place EMS to stay. Thank you Allison for sharing your family’s home and history.

Lovely home overlooking salt marsh
Our family of seven, ages 3 to 70+, completely enjoyed this home for a stay of three days. The home is just a wonderful, welcoming place. It is a lovely, mostly-original 1950's ranch in a very quiet neighborhood with lots of trees and a perfect location on a channel and salt marsh. We enjoyed the long dock and were even able to launch kayaks and swim from the end during high tide. There is also an excellent park and playground within walking distance. Many furnishings and decorative items remain from its long life as a family home. There are three living spaces to spread out in plus a formal dining room and very well-equipped kitchen. Everything about dealing with the owner was easy and the home was just as presented. My family hopes to visit it again.

Everything was exactly as described - felt like we were staying with family at a great location with beautiful marsh and deep creek views. Home has lots of history. Loved the dock and great neighborhood to walk dogs with parks nearby. Close to downtown Beaufort and lots of restaurants. Was a wonderful stay and we will definitely rent again.
