"Had a lovely stay at Windsor cottage. Well presented, great amenities and the most comfortable bed in the master bedroom. Slept like a log! Ate out in local restaurants, which were lovely especially Alberto’s Italy. There are a couple of free parking areas in town 5-10 minutes away. During our stay there was a film set in place for Father Brown and a restriction at the end of the road. It didn’t take away from our stay, but was glad of the premier inn parking just a 100m away. "Great location but living on its laurels and in urgent need of refurbishment. Unpleasant stains in the bathroom, only sunflower shower (terrible if you have had a recent and expensive blow dry), just feels shabby and outdated. Shame, as it could be a really nice spot for returning customers. Not me as things stand."

"Good value, but it's true that you "get what you pay for". The room was extremely hot so we weren't able to get sleep, and the noises from the motorway were quite loud- Although that can't really be helped. The staff member we spoke to at check-in was very helpful. Beds were made and clean (although not very comfortable, but that could be a preference thing). One duvet was stained, but that was only noticeable when I stripped the bed at the end of the stay to help housekeeping. Overall, I think it's not a bad hotel for the price, but would advise to take your own fans in the summer."

"When I arrived, there was no one at reception and I had to wait quite some time before a staff member returned to check me in. I was also disappointed to find that the health club had already closed upon my arrival at 8:15pm, despite the website stating it closes at 9pm. Later that evening, at around 10:30pm, the same staff member entered my room without knocking while I was in the bathroom. When I asked what they wanted, they asked for my name and then stated that the room was supposed to be empty. I explained that there had clearly been a mistake, as they had personally checked me in earlier. They then left without apologising. I found the situation quite strange and raised it with the staff member on duty the following morning, but they appeared completely uninterested. Room and whole hotel in general is pretty dated and not particularly clean. Wouldn’t stay here again or recommend it unfortunately!"

"Stayed here for two nights. The room was clean and spacious. Good facilities in room but it was incredibly hot during our visit so a fridge in room would have improved our stay as no air conditioning but not many days in England you would need it. Breakfast was lovely, small but everything you could want. Evening menu was a bit limited and I probably would go somewhere else for an evening meal. The staff were all excellent, friendly and helpful."
