Spent 4 nights here August 2023, 4 person. Booked the room via Expedia, paid Expedia, hotel did not ask for anything else. 2 days prior to arrival received message from the hotel via Expedia to confirm our arrival flights for a free airport pickup. They said that the free transfer is for a small car and for a larger car and will have to pay $15 difference. We only had small backpacks so replied that we can fit into a Honda civic type car. Flight arrived at 2 am. After getting off the plane looked for a "bank" Paid $25 cash per person for entry visa. After immigration find another bank window and you can exchange USD or euro. Exchange rate was the official rate. We asked for small bills- 10 and 20 Egyptian pound notes. Remember that the Pyramids, the major tourist sites, uber do not accept cash so we ended up paying by card. We were picked up without a problem at 3 am. at the airport. The Guest house is right across the New Museum but you have to use cars to go anywhere anyway wherever your hotel is. We were greeted and offered pizza and coke. From the hotel we used Uber (easy 24/7) (50 Egp to the pyramids, 100 to downtown Cairo, 250 to airport). The area is partially developed, halfway built buildings not walkable. The guest house is in a 6 level partially finished building, Room and bedding is clean, partial pyramid view, rooftop terrace with a free basic breakfast (foul, falafel, yogurt, scrambled eggs, bread, cold cut meat). We felt safe. no sales pressure. Helpful staff.
