We arrived at 3:00 PM (check in was at 4) we were told that our room was ready and completed the full check in process. However, they would not give us a room key until 4 unless we agreed to a $50 charge. I told them to pound sand. Not a nice way to run a business. Over the years, we have stayed at various Best Western properties more than 50 times.

I wanted to reach out to you and explain to you our check in process. We have 34 rooms here and many of our guest want a early check in and it is just not possible. We do have a service that you can choose or not choose to expedite your check in and this is not even guaranteed based on availability. We have check out at 11 to 12pm and we need time to turn over the room. I apologize that you were under the impression that we take to get you in before 4. Sometimes our rooms are just not ready. If your room is clean by 3 we will check the guest in at no fee.

Overall experience was good. However, we ended up coming early and enquired about an early check-in fully recognizing that normal check-in time was 4:00pm. However the desk clerk informed us that there would be a $50 early check-in fee. My wife and I have done a significant amount of travel and never once were asked to pay for early check-in. This left a sour taste in our mouths and was petty to say the least. Another way we interpreted this silly request. Need to check if the room is ready and yes you can check in early if you pay. If not, the room may still be ready but you can't come in until 4:00pm. Not good customer service in our opinion and for that reason we won't be staying there ever again.

Dear Maro,Thank you for your feedback. We appreciate your business. I understand you didn't like the early check in fee however We are a very small Boutique hotel, and we are known for wedding destination and many guest travel all over the world to visit us here. We have guest trying to check in early and there are times we couldn't check everyone in, and it became an issue. We only have 34 rooms so it's hard to get everyone that is requesting an early check in and that is why we now provide the service if guest choose to take the service, we can expedite that request. We understand that some guest may not want the service and that's ok it's a optional if a guest really needs a early check in. Check out is 11-12 and we need to clean our rooms and inspect all rooms, and this is a time process for us to get rooms turned around. I hope you will reconsider staying with us, but we do understand if you chose another Hotel. Thank you again for your feedback.

Awfully noisy room in a great hotel. We could NOT SLEEP 4 out of the 7 nights due to all sort of noises including boiler-like and water-dripping noise which felt like absolute torture. The staff looked into it 2 or 3 times during our stay but somewhat the noises came back. The room number is 110 Other than the distrubing noises, the staff is very friendly and helpful, and the facilities are great with a heated jacuzzi and pool, and a small functioning gym. Location is great too in a lovely town

Beautiful hotel to stay at. We had a room with two double beds and it was big and spacious. It's pretty quiet and has a nice little area to have coffee outside. Would've loved to use the pool because it looked so nice and warm but it was raining so we didnt get to. I would say overall, we're very satisfied. My friends were very happy to stay here too. We drove a tesla so it was a bonus to have a charging station. We didn't have to worry about going somewhere far to charge! Thank you for the wonderful hospitality!

Relaxing stay
The weekend stay at this property was really pleasing . The property was clean, and well kept, the staff was very friendly and attentive, always greeted guest when walking by. The free breakfast was a plus and convenient if you want to grab a quick breakfast . I would definetly recommend and stay at this property again .

We are traveling and are staying at several hotels. We’ve chosen basic, moderate and high-level hotels. Expensive and inexpensive. We’ve used the reviews here, as well as our own knowledge to guide our choices. We’ve read many reviews of Stevenson Manor in Calistoga. We’re quite familiar with the hotel as we’ve lived in the valley at one time. But we’ve never stayed here until this time. I must say, the reviews are true. This is an incredible hotel! I’ve never stayed at a place that was so prepared to welcome guests. Stevenson Manor has simply thought of everything. The best part is they’ve staffed their hotel with wonderfully professional and friendly people. Particularly Lupita and Maribel. Both were very, very helpful with everything we requested. And they were genuinely happy to help. That makes all the difference. So many of the hotels we’ve stayed at do what they need to do and are adequate. But we usually sense a resistance to a complete hospitality. Unfortunately, it’s very rare to feel like these two young ladies made us feel. They made us feel genuinely welcome. And no doubt many others. We felt this welcome the minute we walked in and continued to feel the same throughout our stay. Stevenson Manor has an incredible level of hospitality and enhances that hospitality with all the comforts that you’d expect. Better yet, with many that you wouldn’t expect. We will definitely stay Stevenson Manor in Calistoga every time we’re back in the Valley.

Everything was great. Welcoming entry and breakfast area. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Continental breakfast was sumptuous including a full range of offerings. The room was comfortable. The bathroom was excellent. The pictures in the room of local history added a nice feeling. The in-room refrigerator was useful. There was also an office center. Can't say enough good things about the hotel. It will be my go-to place should I stay in Calistoga in the future.

Great choice for Calistoga
Very convenient location, clean, great breakfast, love having the MW & counter-height refrig (many hotels are cutting back on these, which is irritating). AC/heat unit a little noisy but very easy to work. 2 negatives: could not figure out how to work the remote/TV, and the steel frame for the beds is incredibly high - I'm 5'6" and with an arthritic hip, it was very hard to get up into the bed.

This is not a good place to stay if you need to work. The check-in in time is late and the breakfast does not start till 7am. This place thinks it a resort, If you want a resort, just spend the extra money, it is not much more. The town is really good. just maybe skip this hotel.

lovely place, excellent location. pricey for a best western, but it was a busy weekend for events in the area. our room had too much road noise was the only real downside.
