Well-preserved oval mound that once hosted gladiatorial combat and military processions. This amphitheater was built for the Roman forces at Isca around AD 90 and would have seated around 6000 spectators!

Imagine standing here nearly 2000 years ago, preparing to enter a stadium filled with 6000 spectators! Maybe you were parading after a successful military campaign, or perhaps you were here to fight for your life in gladiatorial combat. Either way, it was a big moment in your life!

The coolest "bridge" I have ever "driven" across! Drive aboard and take flight over the River Usk in this 110 year old engineering marvel. Only six of these historic bridges remain in operation, and the Newport Bridge is the longest with a 196m span (645ft).

A modern highway bridge passes nearby, so these days the bridge operates as a novelty. Show up on either side, and the operator will come pick you up! You can also climb the steps and walk across the 54m

Pillgwenlly

While Pillgwenlly might not have many sights to explore, venturing just a little farther will lead you to top things to see and do like Newport Docks and Newport Transporter Bridge.
