Cottage on Grand

Welcome to the Cottage On Grand! Take a 3 minute drive to Walker’s Bluff Casino & Resort, or a short bike ride to the local ice cream shop, bakery & antique shop. Southern Illinois University is 7 miles west of the property. Also located nearby are other local vineyards, incredible hiking, and Crab Orchard Lake. If you’d rather stay in, you’ll enjoy the fenced back yard & patio for al fresco dining. Air mattress is available upon request. Linens, towels & body wash all provided.

The space
One bedroom has a queen bed and the second bedroom has two twins. The master has a 32" Roku TV. The comfortable living room also has a 50" Roku with the Roku channel and Netflix.

Good value
The home is an older home which appears to have been built in stages. The floors are quite creaky and the age shows throughout. The worst issue for us was the noise of the street out front. We had expected less traffic in such a small town, although the owner made no such claim. The beds were excellent and there was plenty of hot water. The furniture is in good shape. In view of the price we felt it was a good value.

Lovely clean cottage
Very clean and comfortable; a lot of care obviously went into refurbishing it. Comfortable bed, nice linens. Kitchen appliances worked well, Keurig and snacks ready for us. It could use a toaster 😊 Take care in the tiny bathroom, the doorway is very low and tall guests might bang their heads. Nice outside areas a big plus. Would stay there again.

Cute little house
Our family of four spent a quick overnight here for a campus visit at SIU. We arrived pretty late, and access to the house was really quick and easy. Very clean and cute house with plenty of character. Great communication from the homeowner. We would definitely stay here again.

Great for a one night stay.
Traveling back from Breckenridge to GA, stopped in so we could visit with family in the morning before heading home. Wonderful property with historic charm. Property owner was very responsive and wonderful to work with. Would recommend.

This place was perfect for what we needed. It was very nice on the inside and very clean. We stayed following a concert at Walker’s Bluff. It’s about a twelve minute drive from there. The property owner was great to work with.

Excellent, 5-star place to stay!
The cottage was exactly as the listing showed, was very clean and smelled amazing and bed / couch were very comfortable. Everything you could imagine was accommodated and more. The location was safe and a short drive to anything you could need. Communication with the host was quick and straight forward. I could not ask for a better host or cottage. I will be booking a stay at the Cottage on Grand next time I’m in the area.
