Nach dem Ende des Uranbergbaus von 1949 bis 1953 durch die Wismut lagerte die Stadtreinigung zwischen 1965 und 1974 hier kommunalen Müll, Asche aus Kraftwerken und Bauschutt ab. Aber auch Reste von Uranerz sind darunter und führen zur Strahlenbelastung. Für 8 Millionen Euro soll die Halde bis 2022 saniert werden. Hier die Sicht von der Straße Heidenschanze (GMP: 51.018231,13.692419) nach Westen zur bewachsenen Halde Links. Das kleine Gebäude in Bildmitte am Horizont ist das Jochhöhschlößchen in Pesterwitz-Neunimptsch (Freital).
