"A classy hotel experience with a great standard/value ratio."

"Stayed with my wife for our anniversary and was upgraded to a large room. The hotel was lovely inside and the building itself felt grand. It was clean and fresh. Breakfast was cooked with attention to detail. The location was perfect for the centre which was a short 2 min stroll away. Very close to cathedral and river walk/resturants/bars. Car park on site. Highly recommend this place! "

"Only stayed 1 night but the room was comfortable and ideally suited opposite the train station. There was a queue when I arrived at check-in but I just went back later. Lots of nice pubs nearby for food and an easy walk to the main shopping area."

"This is an exceptional hotel in every department. Everything works well, breakfast was very good, staffs were helpful and polite, the hotel is conveniently located, had a brilliant sleep and our room was big and spacious, and not to mention the fact the the entire place was really clean throughout."

"We stayed at Derwent as a base for exploring Northumbria. The hotel is set within a large and beautiful green space. Very clean and modern interior. The restaurant (bar) served great comfort food at very reasonable prices. Recommend including the breakfast in the reservation - high quality english breakfast buffet to start each day. We will be returning for our next trip “up north”, hopefully in August. 5/5 stars! Loved it!"
