Snug Harbor Resort was the perfect getaway for a birthday staycation, particularly amid COVID restrictions. We stayed in unit #6 - a 1-bedroom cabin right on the water, and a very short walk from parking and the lobby/store/coffee shop. The unit was very clean, had everything we could possibly need (including a fully appointed kitchen), and high end finishes like a river rock floor in the shower. We took advantage of the free kayak rental and were delighted to have a harbor seal as our escort as we paddled around. Deer wandered the property, and on a visit to a local lighthouse we saw bald eagles and foxes that walked right up to us before resuming their hunting. Although we picked up a few provisions at the store in Friday Harbor, the shop at Snug Harbor had a great selection - everything from champagne to cake mix & frosting, and great options to make use of the 4-burner range and oven for a tasty breakfast. Those looking for a spot to get some work done should note that the Wifi is very spotty and should not be relied upon. That said, the cable TV was a perfect distraction when we wanted to just veg out while our clothes dried next to the fire after getting caught in the rain. We intended to stay only one night, but fell in love with the place and woke up and extended another night. I will definitely recommend Snug Harber Resort to friends and hope to return.
RE: COVID, the staff were conscientious about wearing masks and the check in desk has a plexi barrier. They also limit the number of people who can be in the lobby. The cabins are separated, so there's plenty of social distancing to be had, and they use a key-pad instead of keys, which minimized how much interaction with the staff was necessary.
