They really need to look at their cleaning training and general customer expectations. Our closest was filthy, one towel each for a week, half a toilet roll, stains on sheets.
However, staff were receptive to our complaints. Breakfast was excellent, pool was great, location was great too.

The hotel has been created out of an old school and it’s lovely to see it given a new life. We liked having breakfast in the garden (which used to be the playground) and having a walk down to the fantastic beaches and cafes of Guethary. We had a room on the second floor and it was very spacious, clean and beautifully decorated. The bathroom was also big and very clean- but I prefer a separate shower. The breakfast was lovely quality and very relaxed, we liked the long tables to share with other guests. I would like the possibility to make hot drinks in the room, but everything else at Balea was perfect.

"Had booked this hotel for a couple of nights. On arrival check in was good and we decided to upgrade to a suite. It was only after this we were told that to use any of the spa facilities it was an extra €25 per person per day for a 2 hour slot. I think that's excessive when paying €140 per night. ..."
