Summary:
Steeped in history, this luxurious two bedroom apartment in the iconic Gibson’s Mill building is just steps from Hobart’s stunning waterfront.

The converted warehouse has a contemporary feel, with arched windows overlooking Morrison Street and the bustle of the area.

Experience Hobart’s renowned waterfront restaurants, bars and cultural attractions, or stroll just five minutes walk to Salamanca Place or MONA ferry terminal - perfect for a group of friends, couples or a corporate trip.

The Space:
The Gibson’s Mill building is etched into Tasmania’s rich history, operating as a family owned flour mill business from the mid-1860’s, becoming Tasmania’s largest flour mill until it was sold in 1979.

It began a new life after a stunning architecturally designed conversion, retaining its industrial original features such as exposed brick, steel and wooden beams, and high loft-style ceilings.

The building’s period facade dating back to 1890 with Gibson’s Mill signage stamps its place in Hobart’s working class history.

The apartment offers space and an edginess that Hobart has become known for. Light and bright, the large arched period windows in the communal spaces offer beautiful views of Hobart’s Waterfront.

All on one level, the apartment features a modern fully equipped kitchen with sleek appliances, large dining and lounge room, workstation, bathroom and two bedrooms both with King sized beds and ample robe space.

The apartment features all modern conveniences including ducted aircon, euro laundry with washer and dryer.

The best of what Hobart has to offer is right at your doorstep. Walk five minutes in any direction for an abundance of bars, cafes, restaurants or the CBD. Try Aloft restaurant on Brooke Street Pier, Daci & Daci Bakers for a delicious pastry, or the Telegraph Hotel next door for a pot of Cascade beer. Head to the vibrant cultural scene of Salamanca Place for dinner, or the Saturday morning weekly market.

Please note the stay is located near the waterfront precinct, some apartments experience late night noise from adjacent restaurants, clubs and pubs, particularly on a Friday and Saturday night.

Hobart is a melting pot of history and contemporary culture, with a bustling food and arts scene. Gibson’s Mill is close to everything that Hobart has to offer – restaurants, retail and business district. Start your morning with a selection of incredible coffee and pastry from nearby baker Daci & Daci and a stroll along the waterfront, and throughout Hobart’s historic city.

Treat yourself to the abundance of restaurants and bars along Salamanca Place, just five minutes walk. Travel easily to MONA by taking the ferry from the terminal located just 3 minutes away.

Getting Around:
You can easily walk around the city from the apartment, or Metro Tasmania bus stops are located all over the city to get you around town or nearby areas.

Taxis and Uber are also available, as well as Neuron and Beam scooters to hire via apps.

Excellent location. Nice accommodations.

Perfect location to walk to most restaurants, bars, stores, etc. Unit is spacious and has nice updated decor. Host was very responsive to all communication. Being an old warehouse space, just make sure whoever is in the other bedroom is on the same sleep/wake schedule as the walls/doors don’t have a lot of sound insulation and glass at top of walls let’s light into the bedrooms from living area. No parking with into but not too hard to find somewhere close by if needed.
