Paradise Lost! Come to one of the most unique properties in the Blue Ridge. Artisan home surrounded by 15 acres with a 150ft waterfall a few feet off the front deck. If you are looking for WI FI and TV this is NOT your vacation. Looking for down time? Looking for inspiration? Looking to reconnect with nature and disconnect from the speed of the world this IS the place for you. Open the windows and let the sound of the water heal your soul. Sit in front of an antique picture window with 20 foot writing desk and watch as the rays of the sun filter through the canopy of trees and light across the pages of your journal. From this window you will be looking down about 100 ft to the creek below and at all the amazing rock formations on the opposing bank. Or take your yoga mat on the deck and do warrior pose as the sun wakes the day. At night build a fire in the pit on the deck and listen to the night sounds as you watch the stars come out. Take a soak in the Asian tub inside the house and open the windows and listen to the falls as you let the weight of the world fade away. Everyone who comes will understand how special this place is. You can not write about special you have to feel it. Home was previously owned by writer and playwright. From the soapstone kitchen sink to the shower room with a rock ledge for the drain every detail is unique. It is the perfect vacation for writers or romantics. The driveway is steep and tricky to navigate. Guest are recommended to have an all wheel drive, 4x4, or at least front wheel drive vehicle. Option to park inside gate and shuttle supplies down in a cart.

Around the area you will find yourself 3 miles from the New River and Blue Ridge Parkway. You are about 45 minutes from some of the best hiking the state has to offer at Grayson Highlands State park where you can connect to the Appalachian Trail. The New River Trail you can pick up as you enter Galax 20 min from cabin. This will connect you with miles of walking trail. West Jefferson NC is a 50 min drive and you can spend all day walking quaint shops and wonderful eateries.

We had such an amazing stay at this waterfall oasis. We had plans to hike and explore Grayson Highlands, and it ended up being quite difficult to want to leave! We could’ve easily enjoyed several more nights here, and look forward to returning. Thank you so much for thinking of everything under the sun. The house was equipped with everything we needed and more. We are so glad we were able to experience a stay and celebrate our anniversary at this wondrous spot. It’s a memory we deeply cherish. A great place to disconnect and reconnect. We'll be back for sure! Just be aware of the driveway-- it really is steep and even my husband's Subaru struggled to get up it. You will need a car with 4WD for sure.

Unplug and reconnect
The waterfall cottage was exactly what my husband and I needed! We loved everything about our stay. We read, listened to the wonderful cd collection, danced, played cards and just enjoyed each others company while watching and listening to the falls. We cooked breakfast and dinner in the well supplied kitchen each day and explored local towns in the afternoon. Caroline really thought of everything! We look forward to coming back. Zen Paradise
I highly recommend this peaceful home overlooking a beautiful waterfall that you hear morning and night. We loved waking up and seeing the waterfall. The Japanese soaking tub offered a tranquil view of the waterfall during the day, sounds if the waterfall and candlelight at night. No wifi, no cell phones … an incredible respite from fast paced life.

A Sanctuary
Short stay this time, but we made the most of it. This property is an absolute gem. You can relax in a comfy chair staring at the elegance of the falls with a glass of wine and some music playing, or soak for hours in the tub. Outside, the waterfall and stream are an exciting habitat for various wildlife. We spotted two different types of newts! The space is so inviting, and you can really see the care that's gone into making it so remarkable. Everything is magical. Turn off your phone, unpack your things, and let the natural, wild beauty of this place erase your troubles. We'll certainly be back for a longer stay in the future!

My wife and I live in the country on a purty piece of land, but this spot is something special. The sounds and the grounds are lush but they are rivaled by the deep soak tube hanging over you private waterfall in the back yard. We will be calling on our wonderful host, Caroline, again!

no better vacation getaway
There is no better place in Virginia to unplug from the internet and detach from the busy-ness of modern life. Perfect peace at the foot of a waterfall. Lovely, perfectly appointed cabin. Stay for a weekend or for two weeks - leave refreshed and only wishing you could stay longer. Healing Waters Falls has my highest recommendation!

Secluded Natural Serenity
This place is amazing. Beautifully crafted building that seems to have been built around the bathtub and views of the waterfall. Exposed reclaimed timbers and lots of windows. It felt like we were at our own private sauna and meditation center. We parked at the top of the hill by the gate and walked down. We didn't trust our minivan to make it back up the steep hill. We actually had just enough cell coverage to send a text (Verizon). Our only regret was not being able to figure out the landline phone number so we could say goodnight to our kiddos. Highly recommend this place if you are looking to unplug and love nature.

The photos of this property do not do it justice. It is absolutely beautiful and immaculate. It is WAY off the beaten path, so be prepared for a drive into a remote area, but the tranquility and sense of escape are worth every mile!

This is a total zen experience. The house is beautiful inside and so well stocked. Caroline has thought of every small detail from the kitchen to the bathroom all the way to the well stocked medicine chest. Just bring your clothes and food. Turn off the world and turn on the recovery!

The Falls are just a slice of heaven on earth! We went up for a quick weekend getaway to unwind from everything and it was absolute perfection— no tv, no service, no distractions— just a beautiful home surrounded by equally beautiful nature! Excellent stay for Anniversary
My wife and I stayed at this property for our one year wedding anniversary and had an excellent time. The host was very kind to leave us a gift of chocolates and champagne, and was open with communication the entire time. The driveway was a bit challenging to fit our F150 down, however that did not hinder us from an excellent experience. The truck still fit just fine, and with the 4 wheel drive option we were able to make it up the driveway after a surprise 1" snow. The property was beautiful and scenery was breathtaking. Our favorite part was that the home was down a long road with lots of cows and relaxing privacy. Thank you, and we will return!

Escape to nature and spoiled
We were looking for a way to disconnect spend time in nature and be comforted. This was a suprise for my husband. He knew we were staying in a cabin but had no idea how little or much we would have. This is a diamond in nature!! He could not stop complimenting at every turn and didn't want to leave nor did I..... This was a slice of heaven for us. We thoroughly ENJOYED the combination of luxury (comfy spacious bed, blankets to cuddle in) and nature(showere and tub, WOW) combined in the house along with the forest at ever turn and amazing view of the waterfall. This space inside and out created such a peace for us. We loved all the little nooks to soak up a great book or wonder at the nature surrounding us. We can't say enough great things about our experience. We highly recommend this wonderful space.. Thank you Caroline!!!

The Perfect Getaway
