Lake Front Home: Fisherman's' dream with private dock and beautiful sunsets

Beautiful and private backyard looking out at picturesque water views. Has a private dock to pull your boat up to. There is a marina, as well as a public boat launch less than 5 minutes away and Lake Erie is only a 15-minute boat ride from the house. You can also access the Huron River with kayaks 10 minutes from our dock. The backyard has a patio and a built-in fire pit with a hot tub to enjoy summer nights with gorgeous sunsets over the water as your backdrop.

There is a bald eagle's nest right across the lake, a large variety of birds seen from the property, and a bird sanctuary ~ 1 mile away for nature enthusiasts. This lake and many locations nearby offer great fishing opportunities. Easily catch a wide variety of fish right from this property's dock. We have personally seen a lot of Perch, Bluegill, and Northern Pike, but fisher's in the area have also been known to catch Small and Largemouth Bass, Steelhead, Walleye, Muskie, and Trout.

During the winter, enjoy country-cross skiing, ice fishing or snowmobiling. Take a 30-minute drive to Detroit for dinner and a Broadway show/Concert/Sports Event or to Campus Martius Park to go ice skating. Henry Ford Museum and Fairlane Mall with shopping options galore are 25 minutes away. Enjoy the night life in Toledo with lots of restaurants and entertainment options, a 30 minute drive away. Skiing and snowboarding are available ~1 hour away at either Brighton Ski Resort or Alpine Valley.

Just 2 miles up the road, behold three miles of captivating Lake Erie shoreline and sweeping vistas that you can only get with a Great Lake and great river at 1,607-acre Lake Erie Metropark. Plan on adding some recreational activity to your day with an 18-hole regulation golf course, the "Great Wave" swimming pool, a bird sanctuary, Marshlands Museum & Nature Center, and a marina.

Visit H2E Adventures less than 10 minutes South of Gran Vista for canoe/kayak/tube rentals.

Don’t miss the Point Mouilee duck festival in September! Point Mouilee is ranked as one of the top duck hunting locations in the nation! Point Mouilee is a 5 minute drive from Gran Vista!

Sleeping arrangements:
Living room: Queen Sleeper Sofa (non-private)
1st Bedroom: Queen Bed with dresser and closet (largest bedroom). Ideal for a couple.
2nd bedroom: Queen Bed with dresser and closet. Ideal for a couple or kids.
3rd Bedroom: Double queen bunk bed-sleeps 4 (smallest bedroom) with dresser (no closet). Ideal for one couple, couple with 2 kids or 4 kids. Top bunk can only accommodate 2 small children and/or up to 200 pounds, and is not meant for adults. See below.

Please beware of (and prepare for) a few inconveniences about this property:
*One of the 3 bedrooms is VERY small, allowing for room for only a bed and small dresser. There is no closet though this is the only bedroom with private access to the only bathroom on the second floor.
*The only full bathroom is on the first floor. There is a half bathroom on the second floor but it is only accessible through the smallest bedroom as noted above.
*Though this property can technically sleep 10 people, it would be crowded due to the limited living area (~1300 square feet) and only sleeps 6 people privately, though is ideal for a large family with kids or 3-4 couples that feel comfortable with one another. Please keep these things in mind prior to booking. With this being said, we do take great pride in the quality/cleanliness of the mattresses and bedding that we offer at Gran Vista and our goal is that you be as comfortable as possible.

I loved that it was so clean! Everything you could want was there. The pictures were great but it was even better in person. We enjoyed the fire pit, fishing from the dock, and just the overall atmosphere. We will be back!

Nice Property!
The boat dock, which is why we wanted to stay there, had only a foot or so of water. I asked ant the response stated was not as deep as the return correspondence stated. So, we had to launch our boat each day at a public ramp which is what I did not want to do. Otherwise, very nice place.

Peaceful
Over all was very nice, had everything we needed. Would've liked the water to have not been so grassy for our boat, very hard to get to house from boatramp. But enjoyed ourselves. Neighbors were nice and helpful. Nice neighborhood.

Home Base
Old school farm house, front deck huge and covered. It rained 6/7 days we there and it was gear saver. Rock driveway tip top shape. Appliances and tableware top shelf. Hot tub looked inviting and gin clear clean. Dock Was a bonus. We put in at Elizabeth around 15 min Erie metro 5’min. We fished hard and long then walked to Big Al’s literally 2-3 min walk y after boat plugged in. New day lamps made backing boat in a breeze in the dark.

Falsely accused in overcharge
This started off as a nice stay but ended in complete confusion and disappointment. I was falsely accused off damaging things that were already broken upon arrival, and Excessively charge for wiping down appliances in the kitchen after 3 night stay. currently filing a complaint.

Clean and beautiful home. Comfy.
I arrived at 4pm. Check in time was 3pm. Communication with owner was difficult. I had no PIN sent to me for entry. Entry was delayed. I had to call VRBO to have them contact owner. Other than that hiccup, Home was very clean. My daughter stayed with me, everything was comfy. Jacuzi was on and warm. Fishing marsh was lovely during sunset. The kitchen was fully stocked with alot of dishes and extra odds and ins. We thought that was nice. Pillows and beds extremely comfy. Great place just wished Communication with owner were easier.

Nice property. Good price. Right on the water!
Over all very good stay. Small hiccup with check in process however it was resolved. Property was definitely right on the water which we enjoyed. Outside firepit was a hit. Beds were comfortable. 1.5 baths were good. Kitchen was well stocked regarding cookware. Convenient little market right down the road south and a bar just to the north. Just what we were looking for as apposed to multiple hotel rooms. Space to move around and enjoy nature and one another's company with out being cooped up.
