Lazy G Cabin #9 "Butternut"

A gorgeous cabin located on the property of the Lazy G Wedding Chapel and Cabin Rental venue. The property is a 1200 acre farm with two caves, a covered bridge, lodge, outdoor fire place (communal), and patio area. The cabin has an open floor plan with a queen bed, table and chairs, and kitchen. The spacious bathroom has a corner shower. Charcoal grill is provided. Charcoal not provided. This cabin is secluded at the wood line.

Directions:

Once on Greenbriar Cove Road follow the scenic route down a mountain. Once to the bottom of the mountain proceed with caution as there are two white dogs that love laying in the road. Proceed past the green shop on your left and around the curve.

You will see a white wedding chapel sign on your right and the Lazy G rock entrance on your left. Turn left, and follow this scenic drive approximately 1.5 miles to the back of the property. You will pass Courteney’s Cave and the Buffalo Rock on your left.

Continue straight, you will then pass Long Neck cabin on your right, Wilson cabin on your left, and the covered bridge on your right.

Cabin 3 “Creek Side” is on the right immediately past the covered bridge. Followed by cabin 4 “Creeks Edge” and the duplex cabins 5&6/7&8. Just past the duplex cabins you will see the little red school house.

**If you rented cabin 9 “the butternut” you will take a right just before the red school house and follow that drive past the sawmill, caretakers facilities and barn. Your cabin is on the hill on the left. **

Otherwise, continue straight past the red school house and barn with the fire truck. Drive onto the concrete, past the garage with the gulf sign, past the office, up the hill to the lodge. The Bridal (#2) and Honeymoon (#1) Suites are on the left side of the lodge. Park anywhere near the old cabin on the left. Then follow the concrete walkway behind the outdoor fireplace past the fountain and up the stairs, just past the pavilion go up onto the deck to your right. The Bridal suite is on the left and the Honeymoon suite on the right. The two are separated by an 8” wall. Enjoy your stay.

I didnt make it there
Family issues came up and we didnt make it to the property, it would be cool to get the cleaning fee back on the count of not needing to clean again since noone was there.

Get Away
Really felt like we got away. Only inconvenience was having to go up closer to the property entrance (which was some distance) to get a phone signal. But not having a phone signal was also a blessing in disguise.

Beautiful escape
This location is a beautiful place for a secluded mountain getaway! The cabins were very nice, with full amenities including satellite TV. The surrounding woods, mountains, creeks, waterfalls, and wildlife were amazing. The Little Chapel is truly beautiful, and I can see why someone would want to have their wedding here. It is conveniently located near Huntsville as well as Guntersville and the lake. We will definitely be back.

Weekend Getaway
The Property was beautiful. We saw deer, heard owls and even got to watch the cowboys on horseback gather the herd of cattle. Our stay started off a little crazy but only because another guest had their weekends mixed up and showed up a week early for their stay. Melinda quickly put us in a more expensive rental. We really enjoyed our weekend away from everything.

Awesome property
Great time, cool property and will stay and enjoy the relaxing, secluded and quaint village.. *Having no tv isn't a biggie but since cable provider had service issues there was no cell service because of wifi being down.. love the seclusion and privacy but somewhat of an uncomfortable stay due to cell coverage.. no way to be contacted in case of any types of emergencies.. overall awesome experience

Improvements needed
The cabin was ok but needed to be cleaned a little better. The bathtub/shower had not been cleaned. There was hair in the tub and dirt, there was a black grease looking spot on the side where the soap goes, and a red spot on the side that appeared to be blood. There is something wrong with the sewage because the drains smelled like sewage and after you flushed the toilet the sink would gurgle and would make the whole cabin smell putrid. The beds needed to be swept under as we were leaving we checked under the beds to make sure nothing had been kicked under them, it was visible they had not been swept under in awhile and we found a makeshift pet bowl under it. There was a some kind of water meter or pipe in the front yard that had the cover removed that could have caused a fall. A chair on the front porch was broken but semi put back together that my granddaughter tried to sit in and fell. It could be a better place with a little effort. Enjoyed the stay, the farm is beautiful and peaceful.

Mixed feelings about property
On the plus side the farm this is on is very beautiful on the drive in, and I love the caves to explore nearby and the cows by the fence. But right next to this cabin are a couple large work sheds which takes from the charm. The cabin is cute on the outside, but inside it did not feel homey. The materials used seem to be the cheapest found at Home Depot. The fridge is in a bedroom, and note that there is no oven. Bathroom gets really hot. The whole cabin felt damp all night.
