Arrived at check-in only to be told the hot water heater in the building we were booked in was broken. A part was supposedly being shipped overnight but we were given no guarantees it would be fixed the next day. Seeing as the temperature was 90° we didn't want to go without the possibility of showering during our 2-day stay so our reservation was canceled. Sure wish they would've called to tell us in advance of our arrival so we could've made alternate plans instead of driving an additional 2 hours. 😔 On a positive note, the room was lovely with water views. The grounds are beautiful & private, overlooking the bay. We had a fabulous and relaxing stay. The beds were very comfortable and the view from our room was with amazing. We stayed in the old mansion, which is nicely decorated and very well kept. The rooms in the old section are comfortables and most of them have private balconies. Our room had a private bathroom in the hallway, a few steps away, was not uncomfortable. The daily breakfast was a nice treat, every day we had fresh baked biscuits, fruit, eggs prepared in different ways, and something for the sweet tooth. The owners and staff are super nice, make you feel welcome. What we liked most of the inn, is its surroundings; we enjoyed pleasant walks, went on kayak trips (available for free), and biked along the pads. The sunsets and sunrises are breathtaking.
