"the skyline Village Inn is an amazing place. It is out-of-the-way with a spectacular view of the mountains that I actually loved sitting on the balcony looking at. and Steve, the gentleman who checked me in was amazing. He took the time to explain to me the history of the end, which I found absolutely amazing… I will definitely stay there again!"

"We cannot say enough about this beautiful cottage on the mountain! It was very clean and had everything you could need. The host was very kind and quick in responding. Be sure to get the WIFI and door code because you will not have service. Bring snacks and grocery items needed. The town of Bakersville is about 10 minutes away and there's not much to eat since the storm, but it was so nice to sit on the porch and enjoy the peaceful stream right in the front yard. Pictures don't do it justice. It was clean. We went to Roan Mountain to see the rhododendrons. "

"I fell in love with this little place. So well-maintained for an older property......full of charm and character. The room was spotless and comfy.......and adorable inside and out. It was cozy and inviting. Not a LOT of amenities, but still had everything I needed. The owners are kind, attentive and friendly. I definitely want to go back in the fall!!! "

"The mountains of North Carolina are for the soul!!! Choosing this rustic, away from the hubbub, down the gravel road getaway was perfect for recharging, reminiscing, relaxing and spending time with old friends who don’t NEED bougie to have a good time!The hot tub was so nice after a day of hiking and the beds were extremely comfortable for a night of rest! We visited the pool one day for a refreshing cool down and met some lovely residents! If you want a great burger, we recommend Stacks in Mars Hill! Delicious! We traveled to Burnsville, as well, strolling around the downtown area and order up pizza and beer at the local brewery, Homeplace. Delightful!"

"Wonderful hotel on the square. The owner was super nice, the guy at the front desk waited on my due to traffic in the mountains to check me in. He was super nice. There’s history, cool decorations, modern class met old school charm. They did a wonderful job with the remodeling keeping the old feel and refurbishing it while ushering in modern amenities. You feel like you should be paying $500 a night, which in other areas it would cost that but Burnsville is a little nothing town and this place anchors it. Seriously, this has to be the coolest place in the whole town. 5 stars if you don’t stay here while passing through you missed out! "
