Beautiful hotel with rooftop bar. Great air con in the hotel. The walk back to the hotel from town is uphill but fine (it was 37 degrees when we were there). Friendly staff and good breakfast.

Joseph Stalin, former leader of the USSR, was born in raised in a small town called Gori, Georgia. The picture here is of his the small home where he spent his formative years. Although the rest of that neighborhood was demolished, his home was saved, and entombed in a structure to protect it from the elements. When you visit the museum, you can peek your head and look into the small bedroom where he was raised by his mother Kete and his alcoholic father who once repeatedly beat him so hard he urinated blood for a week.
