Peaceful Cottage in Newcastle

Our property is 5 acres of ponds, waterfalls and fruit trees. The space, our cottage, is a 1200 sq/ft 2 bedroom, 1 bath, stand alone structure nestled in a eucalyptus grove. We are just 3 minutes from Highway 80, so getting here is a breeze. The deck overlooks a lovely pond, large trees and granite boulders. The main house, our residence, is nicely hidden by trees, kiwi and grape plants. The cottage feels quite private.

Basketball Tournament
We were here for a basketball tournament and wanted to stay outside of the city. The cottage was perfect! The property is gorgeous! The boys fished and kayaked and this little slice of heaven allowed us to feel relaxed and like we’d just had a mini vacation! We plan to return.

We came to the area to celebrate the life of a family member. This property was the perfect place to have comfort and peace during a difficult time. Clean, several comfort items, and a wonderful view of nature. Wonderful yard for a picnic and to watch nature. Saw a deer a few times. The pictures of this property do not do it justice. We were pleasantly surprised at how spacious the cottage actually is. There was more than enough room for three of us. The property is huge and feels as if you are staying in a park. Tons of space to roam, beautiful deck facing ponds, excellent cell phone data speeds. Naomi was as pleasant to deal with as one could hope. Fresh fruit from their trees was provided and you are invited to pick from trees if you like. Quiet surroundings. Reasonably priced for what you get. We felt very at-home and relaxed here. This is the kind of place where you don't worry about locking doors, the hosts are just good people.

Peaceful Respite
The open space, leading to the plant ringed pond and overshadowed by many huge trees is an invitation to tranquility. That’s the image one sees through the multiple windows and doors. The interior is comfortable and roomy, while the view says”peace”. Watching the geese, squirrels, duck and deer adds to the experience. Being visited by the velvet coated black cat and the super friendly, happy dog is a bonus. Staying two nights just to get away was exactly what we both needed.

This is a wonderful place if you are looking for peace and quiet. The property is beautiful. As soon as you arrive you can smell different scents of fresh herbs and fruit from the garden. The owner was so kind that she left a bowl full of fresh mandarins and oranges right from their garden. The beds, kitchen and all the toiletries were top quality. The kitchen was equipped with all kind of spices, coffee, oatmeal, and even organic half and half so you can have a decent breakfast in the morning. So don’t buy anything until you first check in. You won’t need much. Naomi and her family were excellent. She responded immediately to all my questions. She even came to the cottage and taught me how to start a fire!! I can go and on about how kind this family is. This place is an unique gem and I hope future guests not only appreciate its beauty but also take good care so we can enjoyed it for many years to come. Thank you so much again!! I will definitely come back.

We truly enjoyed our time in Newcastle. The hosts were very accommodating and responsive to anything we needed. We visited in the winter and enjoyed watching the rain fall on the ponds through the big windows in the living area while staying warm and dry with the cozy fire in the wood stove. Would definitely stay again :)

Described as a peaceful cottage, and it is just that! Clean space, great views, relaxing atmosphere. I stayed here with my husband and a couple of friends for another friend's wedding in Newcastle. It is in a great location and easy to find, especially with the helpful directions from the host. Host was very communicative and helpful leading up to and during the stay. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone looking to stay in or near Newcastle!

Rented this cottage for my family that were up for my wedding. Ran into the owner when driving my family there…. Best person on earth!! Cottage was clean and perfect for our needs. Yard is better than pictures, quite, peaceful, pond out back, can hear waterfall, birds, surrounded by fruit trees. Amazing location close to Hwy 80, could not hear the Hwy at all! The whole family… including myself wish we could have stayed longer! My mom felt she was at a spa. Would recommend and have family stay again in a heart beat!

This was a fabulous place to rest and recoup after a busy family gathering for a wedding in Oakland. My sister and her family live in Rocklin, and we were able to enjoy time in this area with them to decompress. The atmosphere was relaxing, the space very comfortable and accommodating, the hosts very generous, sharing their fabulous fruit. We enjoyed oranges, lemons, and plums while we were there! A little bit of home away from home.
We very much enjoyed the stay. Loved the view from the picture windows over the pond. Loved the deck for morning coffee. Enjoyed the 2 dogs, 1 cat, and the most friendly Mallard duck. Just bring Cheerios the dogs and the duck will be your best friends for the rest of the time your there. The host were lovely people. I would most definitely stay here again.

Lovely stay in the country, but close to everything!
It was a nice secluded area. A little closer to the main house than expected, but still very private. We had a small gathering of friends and had a lovely time. It was convenient to the highway, but far enough away it felt “out in the country”. The grounds were beautiful! Definitely would recommend if you wanted to unwind a little.
