Gold Rush history comes alive at Newcastle's fruit orchards and historic cemetery, where local farmers sell fresh peaches and plums at roadside stands. Outdoor enthusiasts can hike the scenic trails of Hidden Falls Regional Park in Auburn or visit nearby wineries along the Placer County Wine Trail.
Even though they were renovating, our room was clean, beds were very comfortable and the bathroom was clean. I loved the Dove soap but not the scent.
Loved the microwave, Kerig, and mini fridge.
Decorations for fall were very festive in the Lobby.
Free breakfast was amazing. Great service and a wide variety. Something for everyone. Loved the front desk staff especially the lady on day shift 10/21/26.
We will definitely stay again when in your area! Thank you.

Great room. Quiet location. Hotel somewhat separated from casino which is super. Go to Sacramento often and will definitely stay at Thunder Valley on future trips.

Been staying a while and the staff is very professional and accommodating. It’s nice to know if you need something any time of day or night they are more than glad to help. Rooms are up to date and for the price it’s tops! Breakfast is better than most with a nice selection. Coffee or tea is available and good. It’s not in a prime location but where you need to go is not too far.

Needed a place for 2 night stay in Auburn for a trail race. The room was cozy ang relaxing (specially after the 35K run). Breakfast options were plenty. Staff was super nice. Only downside i felt why was there a need to charge for parking (its pretty open space area and not space crunched - so not sure whatsup with that)

I have stayed here at this wonderful hotel many times over the past five years and the staff, cleanliness and amenities are the BEST around! Specifically the owners who greet you with a friendly smile and efficient manner each time I check in, and the breakfast staff who are clean and friendly even at 6 AM :)
I love it. It’s the only place I book when traveling through Roseville.
Thank you all for another wonderful stay!

Love that this hotel offers breakfast! Most hotels now won’t do it anymore because of covid but I feel it’s just them being cheap and lazy. Would definitely come back here!

I've seen reviews on this motel that show it around middle-ground. I don't understand why. The motel is well-kept outside and in. The 2 different prelude who checked me in were friendly and efficient. My room was absolutely clean. The floors, the furniture, the bedding, and the bathroom were obviously very well maintained. I'd stay here again anytime in Auburn.

We stayed here while attending a soccer tournament, and we had a wonderful experience! The staff was extremely friendly and welcoming, and the entire facility was clean, comfortable, and very well maintained. The location was also perfect, with plenty of stores, restaurants, and other conveniences nearby. Everything about our stay was pleasant, and we truly appreciated the hospitality. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area!
