The room was clean and attractive. All the staff were very friendly and accommodating. It was a perfect location directly accross from St. Mary's. I will definitely stay at Aspen again next time I have appointments at St. Mary's.

wOW! Couldn't be better

I stayed at this hotel for my first trip to Mayo Clinic. The hotel has an hourly shuttle that is convenient. You can also catch the quarter-hour shuttle at St. Mary's (across the street) if you're mobile. The hotel is very casual. It's hard to figure out where to enter; I had parked and tried to get in a door that was only accessible to people with key cards; since the signage on that street indicated the hotel was *there*, that's where I tried to go in. My room was large and clean. It had a living area, as well as a cooking area with cooktop, microwave, full sized fridge (which I needed on this trip) and dishwasher. The bathroom space was broken up into the sink/closet area and then the "WC" (water closet) where the toilet and shower were. In other words, if you're with someone else and they're in the shower, you might have to wait to pee. The front desk staff were about 50/50 in terms of their knowledge and interest in their work. There's a little "market" area where you can get snacks, but it's not self serve, so if the front desk is busy it may take a while to check out your items.

Pros: friendly staff. Good location, shuttle & parking for mayo appointment. Very clean & lovely common areas. Great fresh coffee beans. (No tea). Red Cow adjacent for dinner. Cons: Room VERY basic. 1 nightstand/lamp; no table for dining. Cheap furniture, average comfort queen bed; bathroom not close to bedroom. No tv streaming option; limited thermostat control.

Check in clerk was extremely patient and helpful for this forgetful senior citizen who forgot the WiFi password and where he left his room key/card (and replaced it).
