You're spoiled for sightseeing choice when staying in Kota Kinabalu. The Borneo Eagle is an exclusive five star hotel - newly launched. The staff are excellent, facilities good - the only issue we had was the plethora of sand flies which caused a lot of issues sitting outside. We talked to the Manager about this and understand a machine is being shipped to deal with this issue - also the beach on the offside of the hotel was covered with plastic bottles and rubbish, which should be cleared on a daily basis to support the high quality nature of the hotel.

Stayed at the Nexus for 2 weeks. Room had everything we needed and was clean and tidy. Amazing view from our balcony, overlooking a glorious beach. Didnt use the golf course but it looked well maintained and set out. Used alot of the amenities without issue. Staff are so polite and very attentive. Would have liked more dining choice, although there is building work happening which may solve this. 35 munutes ftom city so. although you are in a secluded area, its easy enough to use shuttle/taxi and experience everything on offer there. Would definately visit again.
