"The property was good, upside down property, set in a lovely harbour town. Locals friendly. Amazing ice cream shop. The attached fish and chip shop was very busy too. Parking was roadside, not guaranteed, opposite the property. We arrived at the end of the Herring Queen Festival, which was packed out. We struggled to even unload, but obviously that wasn't something we knew about prior to booking. After that had finished, parking wasn't really a problem. "The room had not been cleaned at all It was honestly filthy with dust an inch high on the bedside cabinets and the skirting boards Even the door handle to the room was full of grime The parking was a nightmare as it was first come first served and there were cars everywhere with nowhere at all to park. The hotel is dated and run down and we left without staying the night and found alternative accommodation in Berwick-upon-Tweed (which was lovely) at great expense to ourselves but it was worth it as we couldn’t possibly stay at that hotel. We were going to inform a member of staff about our decision to leave but there was nobody about , the hotel seemed to be unmanned. Also we were sold a sea view which was nonsense as there wasn’t one. All in all an experience we want to forget."

"This was a lovely place to stay. The staff were very welcoming and always had time for a chat. The room was spotless and newly refurbished. Comfortable bed. Plenty of tea and coffee etc which with toilet rolls was replenished daily, as we're the towels. The bed was made up daily and the room cleaned. Breakfast was freshly cooked and lovely. Plenty of other items too such a yogurt, cereal, toast etc. Great setting and next to local amenities and 25 mins from the coast. "
