"The Starfish property underpromises and overdelivers. The landscape is stunning, designed for both relaxation and entertainment, with plenty of seating areas throughout the yard. We spent mornings and evenings on the dock, covered by the palapa during tropical showers, and swimming straight off the ladder where we saw tons of fish, plus a dolphin and even a manatee.The house is in a great location—just a 10–15 minute walk to the village. Even with a car, we often walked to enjoy the views. Inside, it had everything we needed with plenty of space to relax.The owner, Gail, was responsive and informative from the start, and the caretakers, Luisa and her family, live next door and do a fantastic job. Luisa went above and beyond: she picked us up at the airport as a courtesy, offered to take us to the market and pick up our rental car (we declined since the company was already arranging pickup), and even offered a ride back to the airport at the end. On a hot afternoon, they surprised us with fresh coconuts harvested right on the property.We experienced only a couple of brief power outages, but everything was restored quickly. The location is also a huge plus: while Placencia was struggling with sargassum seaweed during our stay, Starfish’s geography meant we could still fully enjoy the water.We will definitely be back—Starfish is the perfect space to unwind, recharge, or even get some work done."
