Our family of 4 (two adults and two teenagers) had a very memorable vacation the last two 2 weeks of
June 2013. We recommend this property for 4 adults or two couples with a car.
Good hand-over of keys upon arrival and departure was easy.
The apartment building "A Murella" is next to "Residence Le Relax" which is easy to find on google map.
The apartment is clean, spacious, modern and situated close to the
large "Casico" grocery and bakery. The kitchen contains all the amenities, with the exception of a
chopping board for meat and vegetables.
Upon arrival we stowed away the living room's shag rug in the utility closet because it smelled musty and was
sandy (probably because the vacuum cleaner was too weak to clean it properly).
The owner has a good folder with attactions in the vicinity as well as what to do before leaving the apartment.
Wi-Fi password was not included in the folder, but we got it from the friendly neighbours.
Plan 6 hours on the day before your departure for cleaning the apartment thoroughly, if you want to skip cleaning fees.
The beach that is 350m from the apartment is not worth visiting.
Only 10 minute walk on pavement to Porto-Vecchio harbour and from there a 6 minute uphill walk to
Porto-Vecchio's "Old town". Both loaded with reasonably priced restaurants.
Car is definitely needed to visit the beautiful beaches north of Porto-Vecchio (e.g. Pinarello,
San Ciprianu, Calla Rossa & Benedettu) and southern beaches (Palombaggia, Santa Giulia).
Easy access to local wineyard in Lecci (e.g. Torraccia) or Figari and hiking in L'ospedale.
But be prepared for windy roads. Take a sweater if you plan to hike, the temperature dropped from
25 Celsius on the coast to 14 Celsius in the mountains.
Our favorites restaurants were Costa Marina in Palombaggio and Kissing Pigs in Bonifacio.
