Whoever was working the night we checked in was absolutely hilarious and very welcoming. Room was comfy and looked great. Slept like a log.

We enjoyed our stay at the historic Northern Hotel in downtown Billings. It's a fine choice for those visiting and wanting to stay centrally in downtown. The hotel desk staff were great, especially for accommodating our very late evening check-in and explaining the complimentary parking in the garage next door, as well as letting us know about the 2 restaurants on site. The room was clean, with enough space in the bathroom for all our stuff. It would have been nice if there was a refrigerator in the room, since we could have used that for keeping our leftovers from our great dinners. We had breakfast at Bernie's Diner, attached to the hotel. Delicious! We also had a complimentary cocktail at TEN, the fine dining restaurant in the hotel, and the bartender was very friendly. We were surprised that housekeeping was only provided on one day of our 4 night stay. If this had been communicated previously, we somehow missed it. We would certainly stay here again, as it's a nice hotel and within easy walking distance of pretty much everything in downtown Billings. We'll just need to figure out a way to keep leftover food cold if the overnight lows are higher than 38 degrees.

For the price we pay for the room, we would have expected a cleaner room. We had some sort of leak from our heater/air conditioner, food and stains in the chair, and our fridge did not work properly. The up side was the pool. It was clean and seemed well maintained. The breakfast was also great.
